Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. They are especially appreciated this year, not because of the "special" birthday, but because the journey to get here over the past eight months or so has been such a challenge, but I'm here, I've overcome a lot, but I have a great family that has supported me and encouraged me - Eileen Watts Bradley Siegel Douglas Siegel Abby Siegel - my work family - Pamela A. Myers Christa Frank High - and the many friends who have been there. I have more work to do, but I do love and appreciate all of you - more than you know.

I was pleased to be honored with the Pennsylvania Bar Association Special Achievement Award, along with my co-chair Jennifer Ellis, JD, LLC, and co-vice-chairs Samuel Guillermo Encarnacion, Paul Edger and Rodney Akers for bringing President Michael McDonald's Technology Committee vision to reality. We worked together to bring a tremendous amount of programming to PBA members and look forward to a second year.

Exactly what we say and demonstrate all the time. Our clients are happier because they use and learn to use technology to do their jobs better and faster. Yet many are either afraid or unwilling to spend the money when the proof is readily apparent.

18 incredible years of helping lawyers understand the importance of technology in their practices, thank you to everyone who helped make Integrated Technology Services LLC a success!

October 1st marks the 18th anniversary of the founding of Law Offices of Daniel J Siegel - Workers Comp, Personal Injury, Wills and Integrated Technology Services LLC. It is hard to believe that, after opening with no clients, both businesses have grown and are flourishing.

18 is also considered a lucky number, known in Hebrew as Chai, and means good luck, and I have certainly been blessed with good fortune. These businesses could not have succeeded without so many wonderful people, who have supported me in countless ways. Of course, there is my family, Eileen Watts, Bradley Siegel, Douglas Siegel, and Abby Perlinski, and my incredible friends/co-workers, Pamela A. Myers, Christa Frank High, Molly Barker Gilligan, and Nicole Feigenbaum, and so many others (too many to mention) who helped us succeed.

And, of course, there are the many clients, friends, and colleagues, each of whom had faith in and trusted us to help them, their families, and their friends.

In my latest column for the American Bar Association ABA Law Practice Division, I somehow confuse s*x education with techs education because both are topics people often prefer not to address, do not address or do not address in a systematic and meaningful way. We know what can happen if we don't explain things to our children, but in a world with cyber threats, not educating our lawyers and staff can also lead to undesirable consequences.

The reality remains that cybersecurity training is crucial because, no matter the level of training, law firms remain vulnerable targets.
