HAVE YOU BACKED UP YOUR DATA?

If it is important, it should be backed up. Should a virus, corruption, or damage occur, we may not be able to recover all or any of it AFTER the crash.

Yes, sometimes we can and often do recover data from dead or dying computers, but not always and even when we can recover some, we may not be able to get it all.

A backup will always be your best defence against data loss.

WINDOWS 10 END OF LIFE: - it's not the end of the world.

Windows 10 end-of-life support will end on October 14, 2025, 10 years after it's release. This means that Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, feature updates, or technical support for Windows 10 after that date, says Microsoft. While your PC will still function, it will be more vulnerable to security threats without ongoing support.

What happens after October 14, 2025?
No more security updates: Microsoft will no longer release security updates or fixes for Windows 10, leaving your system vulnerable to new and evolving security threats.

No more feature updates: Microsoft will not provide new features or bug fixes for Windows 10.

No more technical support: Microsoft will no longer offer technical support for Windows 10. Not to you and not to us.

Many, but not all PCs that were originally loaded with Windows 10 from the factory and manufactured in late 2017 or later may be able to upgrade to Windows 11. If your computer was upgraded to Windows 10 from an older operating system, there is very little chance it will qualify for the Windows 11 upgrade.

Quick fact: Modular PSU cables

Are modular power supply cables universal? Here is the answer from PSU manufacturer Corcair.

"The answer is no. Just because they look the same at a glance, do not be tempted to try. Connectors on the component side are standardized, and therefore, all have the same wiring on each PIN. ****On the power supply side, however, each manufacturer is free to choose how this is applied."****

In other words, the connectors may LOOK the same, but it is how they are wired (pin-out) in the PSU that matters here. If you need additional cables, it is best to get them from the manufacturer of the PSU you are using.

Just something to keep in mind.

Another successful laptop screen replacement.

Screen replacements vary in cost with the screen type, resolution, being touchscreen, backlight method, and other specifications, but most repairs are quite reasonable.

Regretfully, we often cannot quote a full part & labor cost until we see the laptop and check parts availability and price, be we will be happy to do so for you.

NOTE: We have customers who pay to replace/repair the screen on a device simply to recover data from the HDD or SSD storage. If that is the only reason for a screen repair and you are not going to continue using the laptop, just having C2T recover the data may be a better option for you. Just a parting thought...
