System Administrator’s seem a bit much for a home or business network, but they become valuable when vulnerabilities are present. For example, how might someone so busy find that their OS becomes vulnerable over night? Well, one might argue that the third party service they pay monthly/yearly will protect them when their system(s) fall short of being up to date. That’s a true statement, but your system could become hacked if that third party application becomes a vulnerability in itself. Thus, don’t rely on such service(s). Hire a System Administrator (SA)who can push patch’s as soon as they’re needed.

Updates are best described as security patches. Those patches reduce the rate of social engineering attacks that exploit vulnerabilities found within Microsoft’s or partnered software applications.

Latest network vulnerability for Apache Log4j v2.15.0.

Directly from Cisco, “Log4j version 2.16.0 addresses this vulnerability by disabling access to JNDI by default and limiting the default protocols to java, ldap and ldaps“.
