Here are three little things that can make a noticeable difference at the frame!

Reducing drag when advancing a quilt without a power fabric advance, releasing tension in selvedge seams on a pieced backing and showing why canvas leaders sometimes stop looking straight.

These are not complicated fixes. They are the kinds of details I have picked up after many years of loading and quilting real quilts.

I have hosted enough roadshows to know that the best questions are often the ones a quilter almost talks herself out of asking!

Ask how the machine handles. Ask what daily maintenance really looks like. Ask about table size, room around the frame, learning support, computerized quilting, and what happens when you need service.

Bring the practical questions and the small ones. The September roadshows are meant to give you time at the machines and honest information you can use.

The right machine is not always the largest machine or the one with the longest feature list.

I look at how a quilter works. Does she love ruler work? Does she want room for large blocks? Is easy handling the priority? Will the machine live in a dedicated studio or share space with the rest of the house? Is computerized quilting part of the plan now or later?

Those answers narrow the choices in a much more useful way than comparing specifications alone.

Technology should make a longarm easier to understand and use.

Tilly’s controls are located on a five-inch full-color touchscreen. You can adjust the stitching mode, speed and other settings without working through complicated controls.

Tilly also connects to the APQS app through Bluetooth. The app gives you access to diagnostics, the digital manual and training videos. When you need additional help, information can be sent directly to the APQS support team.

The machine may be new, but personal support still matters. When you purchase from me, you have someone you can call with your questions.
