Have you ever had to fill out a form sent to you as a PDF? You have to print, then write in all your info and then scan it into a PDF file that you email back. Sure you could pay big money for a PDF editor. Well, pay no more! The free Firefox browser now lets you type directly on to a PDF form. Just download at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/windows/ Use it one of two ways: Right click on your PDF and choose Open With, then Firefox. Or type in "Default Apps" in the "Type here to search" window in your task bar at the bottom of desktop screen, and, once there, scroll to the bottom of Default Apps and look for the fine print, "Choose default apps by file type". They will be listed alphabetically. Scroll all the way down to ".pdf", click on it and choose Firefox. Click on the T for text button at the top, click where you want to type, and you are in business! Then click on your typed text again if you need to drag it into perfect position. BTW, you can also highlight text like with a yellow highlighter. 🤓

Faster page loading, less memory usage and packed with features, the new Firefox for Windows is here.

Beware of text scams! I have noticed an increase in text messages calling me Lucille and saying they will automatically resubscribe me to an antivirus I have never used for over $200 but I can contact them at the included phone number or click the link to cancel. These types of messages are scams fishing to get their hands on your dollars. Other tells are emojis, a heading that says it went to several people besides you, poor grammar and misspellings, sender uses all capital letters to get your attention and increase your urgency to take action, the website link has no relationship to the business address (it is not from the IRS if the link is oq40pearl.wixsite.com instead of having irs.gov in there somewhere). In conclusion, if anything looks wonky, IT IS. Delete it and move on with your life.

Once again I have received a call about a screen popping up with sirens saying it was Microsoft letting them know about a security breach that would make every phone and computer on their home network susceptible to attack. A phone number led to a request for a fee to come in to their computer via the internet to "fix" it (the most alarming part to me). I have NEVER heard of Microsoft doing anything like this. My advice is to reboot because the screen and alarm is only running in memory, so emptying your computer's mind of the fake alarm is more than likely all you need. If you prefer, call me if you would like your computer(s) scanned for malware and to clean out the accumulated trash files. 🤓

SCAM ALERT! A few weeks ago a friend paid $250 to get out of a message that suddenly talked to her through her computer in a commanding male voice that said Microsoft had detected malware on her computer and that she would have all her credit card and personal data stolen if she didn't call the 800 number for "Microsoft support" to get remote access and remove it. I have just had another lady call me who had been charged $500 and I advised her to shut down her computer, call the credit card company and see if she could stop the payment. I remove this type of scam viruses every other day. DO NOT PAY ANYONE AS A RESULT OF THREATS THAT POP UP ON COMPUTER! Even though the screen appears to have the Microsoft Windows Logo with their blue background, the guy that answers the phone number on the screen with the foreign accent DOES NOT work for Microsoft. If you let him get remote access to your computer he may even take you to a Windows folder that logs in the most recent activity explaining that that is the evidence that your computer has been hacked. SCAM! I have worked professionally on computers since 1980. I can help and it will not be $500. Cell: (423) 667-0017
