We met with a team of linemen from Comcast yesterday for an update on the service and connection issues many have been experiencing. They performed work on one of the feed lines into the area Thursday afternoon and early evening - they couldn’t quantify what was wrong with the line other than a general feeling that it wasn’t right. They monitored the line for 24 hours and are confident that it is working properly now.

If you have noticed improvements in connection stability, or if you are continuing to have issues, please let us know so we can pass that information along.

We are hopeful that this repair has resolved the service issues in our community!

We met with another Comcast representative today. The general consensus is still that there is a larger systemic issue in the area that is isolated to the newer Docsis 3.1 modems. It is affecting both customer-owned modems and Comcast-leased modems.

Comcast advised us that their networking team is still attempting to resolve the issue. We were also told that the more data they have, the sooner they will be identify and resolve the issue.

Comcast has accepted our offer to gather information from as many sources as possible.

If you experience a service outage and would like Holly Technology Solutions to include this in our report to Comcast, please submit the following information:

1. Date and time the outage occurred
2. How long the outage lasted
3. Make and Model of your modem
4. Describe what the lights on your modem showed
during the outage
5. The nearest crossroads to your home

This information can be sent to us via Facebook Messenger or it can be emailed to [email protected]. We will add your submitted information to our report and submit it to a Comcast. Reporting this information to us will NOT initiate a service call with Comcast, but will aid them in resolving the issues in the Holly area.

We will not use your contact information for any sort of sales or marketing efforts in the future. Our purpose is solely to help restore proper internet service to our community.

We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

Update on the Comcast situation -

They are continuing to monitor several circuits - the issue does not seem to be improving at all - we’ve received numerous reports from customers today of continued disconnections and diminished speeds. These issues seem to be concentrated in the morning, but also continuing later in the afternoon to a lesser extent. Despite previous suggestions that these issues were isolated to specific brands and models of modems, that has proven to be false.

While Comcast is continuing to investigate as calls come in, we believe there is a greater system-wide issue in the area. There are too many people reporting the exact same issues.

Holly Technology Solutions will continue working with Comcast to get this issue resolved for our community.

If you have your own cable modem (that you purchased) and are experiencing speed issues with Comcast, please send us the make and model of your modem as well as a photo of the lights on the front of the device. Comcast has asked us to gather this information as they continue to work on the speed and service issues in the area.

Just a brief update on the Comcast situation that has been going on - we have been in contact with Comcast representatives throughout the day. We had two very knowledgeable Comcast techs stop by this evening that took additional data we had for them, ran some additional diagnostic testing, and communicated today’s data to senior network engineers at Comcast. As of now, two separate issues have been identified, one issue involves Comcast / Xfinity branded cable modems and a different issue is affecting customer-owned cable modems. Both issues are manifesting in slow performance and / or dropping connections. The techs, Holly Technology Solutions, and Comcast’s network department are actively monitoring certain connections to identify what is causing the issues so they can be resolved as quickly as possible.

Everybody from Comcast that we have spoken with, as well as the other engineers that have been working with behind the scenes are sincerely committed to resolving these issues.

As part of our commitment to our community, we will continue to post updates here on the Holly Technology Solutions page as new information becomes available.

Holly Technology Solutions has been in contact with Comcast / Xfinity regarding the internet issues in the Holly area. A Comcast engineer informed us that the issue is confined to the newer Docsis 3.1 cable modems. Docsis 3.1 is a technology the modems use to communicate with the cable network. This affects Comcast provided equipment as well as cable modems customers have purchased themselves. Older cable modems are not affected.

Comcast executives are aware of the issue and are working to resolve the connectivity and performance issues their customers are experiencing.

Holly Technology Solutions has offered Comcast our assistance and we will continue to post updates as we learn more.
