Hi my name is Gina and I was a previous coding instructor at Jr. DevLeague. After Jr. DevLeague’s closure last December, I wanted to provide students with access to free coding mentorship on the UH Manoa campus. Hence, ICSpark was created.

Next semester, ICSpark will launch our first free coding programs from February 1 - May 2 for motivated 6th - 12th grade students at a computer lab in the POST building at UH Manoa. No prior coding experience is required. Registration is on our website at https://icspark.github.io/website/. You can access the registration form directly here: https://forms.gle/Hm3Pa6PhmYxEc3xS8 The registration period is from December 11 (6:00 am) to January 11 (11:59 pm), on a first sign-up, first-served basis. Please take a moment to share this with any student that may be interested!

Congratulations to this Waipahu High School team for taking 1st place at the hackathon! They made an app to help solve the ongoing problem of cleaning algae from Maunalua Bay by allowing users to sign up for plots on the bay to clean. The app also has a forum to discuss different events and a statistics page to visualize all data.

Check out their app here! https://zakattack9.github.io/HACC4Edu/
