Canva has made everyone think they’re a graphic designer.
They’re not.
Real graphic designers are managing: kerning, grid systems, visual hierarchy, color accessibility, brand guideline adherence, production file prep, bleed and margin setup, responsive layout adjustments, pixel-level refinements. And that’s before the revision rounds start.
Canva gives you a template. A designer gives you a system.
When businesses replace designers with drag-and-drop tools to save money, it shows. In the inconsistency. In the off-brand assets. In the details nobody can quite put their finger on but everyone feels.
Design is a craft. And we’re slowly devaluing the people who actually know it.
Pay designers. Hire designers. Respect designers
