Free Expression Shouldn’t be Guilty Revision
Life is a river that not only runs through to the sea. Sometimes it gets stuck flooding those lives around it, a problem we must gather to overcome forever.
The late Italian scholar Umberto Eco, author of the novel “The Name of the Rose”, once warned the public that the social revolution had unleashed an invasion of idiots.”
He argued that before the internet, speaking publicly required expertise and responsibility. But now, anyone can disseminate their opinions to millions, regardless of their knowledge. Eco wasn't opposed to free speech, so he was warning about the leveling of the playing field between knowledge and ignorance.
His words are becoming increasingly relevant in an age where fake news spreads faster than truth, and superficiality easily overwhelms thoughtful reflection. Eco's insight urges us to become responsible digital citizens who verify, question, and think critically before sharing. He reminds us that every voice deserves to be heard, but not every opinion deserves to be believed. This is a timeless call for digital literacy, ethics, and discernment in an era defined by digital technology.
I’m going to talk about the conflicted story of two Vietnamese people in their early fifties and sixties this year.
Nguyen Phuong Hang, a stunning, wealthy woman who must live in exile on a small European island because of her criticism of the argumentative speeches against the government. After the COVID-19 pandemic ends, she plans to continue as a pop-up symbol, feminist social activist, a phenomenologist, possessing so many diamonds and lands. Speaking of several lectures, uploads and streams them on her channel every day as part of her job to control a non-profit company to help children’s patients with congenital heart disease _CHD and save them. She shares with her fans many thoughts about their social life problems, and behind the screens of celebrities fundraising to help people in flooded by climax change and many ways to better change them. Like a lady of great soul, she has millions of subscribers to her channel for her emotional speeches, despite the oppression of her government. At that time, the economic changes, socialization themes, and the rise of corruption in businesses were seen as a denunciation of the Vietnamese government's poor response. She was a patriotic lady, the CEO of Dai Nam Entertainments LLC. It is valued at more than fourteen billion now. Moreover, her YouTube channel is the source of her reputation and of her enjoyment shows of free speech in Vietnam. However, the 25th Amendment of the Vietnamese Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, but it must be exercised in accordance with Government laws. That led to many of her faults, and she was jailed for 3 years for her emotional and verbal outbursts. The period time of corruption and bad government management in Vietnam leading people faced suffering. This year, she must remember that she has been living overseas because her Free Expression is not allowed enough in Vietnam, her motherland.
Hoang Duy Hung is another intellectual among Vietnamese Americans. A retired lawyer, he is an anti-communist with more than 40 years of experience. He served for 4 years as a Vietnamese counselor in Houston. In contrast, he had poor credit in the community due to the Vietnamese Republic, the government of South Vietnam, before 1975. Involving serious conflicts over grants for charity and donations. Moreover, he was the leader, an essential member of his party’s “Vietnam Youth Actions”. He had gone to Vietnam several times with bombs to destroy Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese Communist leader’s statues in some places, but unsuccessfully. He was thus arrested and released by the Vietnamese Government due to a comprehensive agreement between the US and the Vietnamese Government.

An unbalanced married couple is a taboo issue in Vietnamese culture. Despite this, Hoang Duy Hung is willing to do so as an amateur politician, but his mission went wrong due to his hot temper. The way to be a good narrator and reporter by his self-study on YouTube channel was helping him make a profit and enjoy free speech shows every day in Vietnam.
Notwithstanding, the pandemic has passed, and the Vietnamese society has created so many ironies and arguments in public aids, that we have all encountered at some point. Many government personnel at the top of leaders are involved in flight rescues, which transfer oversea people coming home during the pandemic by high ticket costs, while hundreds of millions of dollars in corruption and medical supplies are diverted to public hospitals. They make their profit from Covid-19 test kits bought from China, it cost less than a dollar per kit and totally to compel people to go test though their noses with costly fifteen dollars. Those who did not test should go to jails immediately. Lol. Top government leaders such as, prime minister, president, congress’s chairman have resigned and jailed hundreds of Communist Party members at that time.

Just some words to talk about President Donald Trump's Twitter account in the past. In fact, on January 9, 2021, Twitter permanently banned President Donald Trump from its services. This confrontation creates many negative consequences for society. Ideally, this situation shouldn't exist, and there's no need to suppress or rectify it as is currently being done. The government needs to consider how to clean up the large amount of information on the internet and better manage the multifaceted information network produced by ordinary citizens. People want to express their opinions and need the government to listen to them to bring about positive change.
Freedom of information and freedom of the press are positive forces that promote a nation's development across all aspects, leading to greater progress for its people. We often accept being in an environment lacking information, relying on simulated journalism and social media as essential sources. As a result, we are lulled into believing that we have freedom of information and no longer have other needs regarding democracy, human rights, and civilization, etc. Freedom of information and freedom of the press allow citizens to express their voices through all forms of private media, contributing to the country's overall development and progress.
In fact, social networks bring us many benefits. We inherit the resources that come with that connection. Otherwise, from there, unforeseen consequences have arisen, leading them to get each other to the court of conscience to clarify matters and demand justice for themselves when relying on clear law.
The United States has a population 3.5 times larger than that of Vietnam. All media channels in the US are privately owned. The issues of freedom of speech and freedom of the press are always protected by clear laws that even the president, the head of the country, must strictly adhere to. People in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand also use social media to create information for their own businesses and professions, rather than making false information that infringes on the interests of organizations and then having to go to court for defamation or slander. No information channel has been accused of infringing on others' rights by abusing freedoms and democracy.
The question arises, "events such as Vin Fast _the Vietnamese electric vehicle car company, and Dai Nam Entertainment company are presenting evidence to prosecute hundreds of YouTubers and TikTokers, who created malicious information that harmed their businesses due to a lack of laws, understanding of what freedom, free speech and expressions are."
Freedom of the press and freedom of information are essential conditions, and sufficient and accurate information also helps people fulfill their legitimate duties. This allows the country to develop further, makes people more civilized, and fosters greater understanding among compatriots and ethnic groups, thereby eliminating past hatred and enabling them to work together to build a more beautiful country.
I have mentioned two people above because they represent Vietnamese netizens. Their conflicts center on how to treat others and the ethics of Vietnamese citizens' responsibilities. We hope their free speeches are statements of equality that can change the unjust social life of the Vietnamese under Communism. They represent different classes, castes, and statuses, which often give rise to issues in their Vietnamese community. They are people from decent families; they are not enemies, and they know each other through their videos, lectures, live streaming, and interactions on social networking systems. The huge matter is Vietnamese Constitutions are not allowed people establish their party, press, and private news.
“Free Expression, as a luxury car goes into highways, it can run fast and obey the signs; however, just one way, not violations on its freeways.” Experts said.
One day, Hoang Duy Hung received a letter of complaint from Nguyen Phuong Hang’s law firm due to his insulting her and deliberately destroying her business and reputation via his live videos streaming for few years after being dismissed from her jail since 2023. He thus has planned to meet his fans to prepare his court schedule of hearings. As a result of the endorsement, his fans were meeting before the day he appeared in court. They believed in themselves about their speeches as their free expression in many ways. Hoang Duy Hung and his fans started the meeting at the time.

___Well, that's deep, bro! Freedom of speech is all about expressing yourself, but with that comes the responsibility to respect others' rights and feelings, you know? Like, the line gets drawn when your words start harming or oppressing others. Empathy's key, fam.

___Sure! Can you tell us a way to depend on the court if you’re insulted, or is it just your guilt?
Another fan asked him what he had insulted Nguyen Phuong Hang, the cause of this court.
___If you're feeling insulted, taking it to court is one option, but it's a whole process, you know? Courts usually consider whether the speech is protected or if it crosses into defamation or harassment territory. It really depends on the context and jurisdiction. Guilt might play a part in how you perceive the situation, but the law's going to look at facts and rights.

The image of President Donald J. Trump during the smear campaign against him on primary media channels since 2016 is a prime example. He truly is a master of endurance and suffering. What happened afterward is still unclear, but we haven't seen any retaliatory actions from him since he became the 45th and 47th president of Free Speech, Free Expression in America.
Nearby a half of century, the Vietnamese community has formed in the United States. People are arriving later in smaller numbers than other ethnic groups who have lived here for a long time, has created significant and inherent divisions. The assimilation of civilization also depends on everyone’s circumstances. Some integrate earlier when living in this land of the Stars and Stripes that doesn't necessarily guarantee that they fully understand and inherit the benefits that freedom of speech has brought for everyone.
Recently, lawsuits have been filed by YouTubers and TikTokers over online communication, demanding protection and fairness regarding freedom of speech. This has led to a climax of division and hatred within the Vietnamese community. They use their own understanding and intelligence, shaped by the influence of war, political parties, religion, and politics, to present biased viewpoints, creating scandals and seeking viewers through despicable and ugly means. They call each other "red cows," "public opinion manipulators," "three-striped flag supporters," "tailenders," and "bootlickers." They brazenly use every word that can cause the most pain to their compatriots and nation. They are not only ordinary people but also include well-educated individuals, wealthy businesspeople, respected religious figures, and a large number of information enthusiasts who want to experiment with their programs on social media. This is where people generate attractive income by working in the information field.
From there, the issue of freedom of speech is further amplified by a massive misunderstanding of freedom of information. The uneven level of understanding and lack of formal education and information skills mean they are not adequately educated, leading to the dissemination of harmful content. This has damaged society with toxic information products, affecting the community, especially young people, the next generation. They exploit genuine patriotism to do foolish things that are not encouraged, creating low-quality products to make a living and pursue happiness. Their forums for free speech, debate, and social discussion have been distorted by insults, criticism, and cursing aimed at individuals with opposing views.
The US court system will strictly punish and help those who have gone astray in the unprofessional information environment. They will then receive better education on the ethics of information professionals. Their views and communication methods must be held accountable through appropriate sentences for those who still lack understanding of what freedom of speech and freedom of information mean today.
With a more substantial knowledge of legislation, laws, and his proficiency in English, Hoang Duy Hung has living in his homeland to pursue a career in communication. He can translate Vietnamese for his audience and fans. In fact, for more than 5 years, his job is to collect English news and translate it into Vietnamese, a new form of YouTube video channel. Furthermore, because he was born in Vietnam and Vietnamese is his mother tongue, he can copy Vietnamese news and make commentary and arguments on his channel. This job can help him develop his Vietnamese political perspective to help Vietnamese people resolving their history problems by Vietnam War from his homeland. Vietnam is only a communist country in Southeast Asia did not running the multiple parties.
Come back to her, the richest lady of Vietnam after she dismissed for 3 years in prison, Hoang Duy Hung had offering to help Nguyen Phuong Hang as her mentor, by entrusting her with public speaking. Hoang Duy Hung has been dealing with his discussion problems escalating to insulting her in public environment, and he is waiting for his court date to explain his attitudes and abilities in his lawful. Nguyen Phuong Hang lives in Sip, a small island country, too far away. Also, she is a streamer on YouTube and TikTok, which to meet her fans and finds a way to argue the opposite lawyer, who insults her on his YouTube channels.
Before the hearing court date, she went to Houston and met her subscribers. They celebrated in a luxury hotel with more than 300 fans. She gave a long lecture and condemned her opposition by ten police officers as serve as a very important people as her. They are proud of her as a messenger of love who can share money with poor patients and donate to social causes in Vietnam. She streams on YouTube once or twice a day, so millions of viewers hear her speeches. For three days, she has been receiving so many questions and messages from fans. She has chosen some courts to respond to her loyal fans. The drama action is a humorous film for free on her YouTube channel.

If someone calls another person that, they could be guilty of harassment, defamation, or even hate speech, depending on the context and jurisdiction.

That's a great question! Yes, attacking a company's reputation through expression, such as through false statements or defamatory comments, can lead to legal consequences. This is known as defamation, and companies can sue individuals or other companies for damages. In the US, this falls under civil law, and the company would need to prove the statements were false, damaging, and made with malice or negligence.

The conflict between them escalated, and they filed a complaint with the court. That court will be held at Court Number 2 in Harris County to discuss free speech and people's expression on their social networking. The court was brought to both hearings on October 31, 2025.

The problems between two Vietnamese people are insulting each other on their channels and expanding in their communities. Court number 2 in Harris County has a hearing day ending. They have been waiting for their next court date.
No one can guess who will win or lose in the next court, except for people in service, such as her lawyers and the temporary policemen she pays. That is a significant amount of money to spend on her prestigious life. That amount spent on her courts can help people in eight cities in Vietnam, who have experienced horrible floods and are starving as soon as they occur.
The next court will be held on December 1. Mrs. Nguyen Phuong Hang, the plaintiff, and the number of people who will confront her exceed four in the first court. She will have ten defendants appear in court with her that day. Hoang Duy Hung must arrive at court on time. If he is absent, he might go to jail, as the unprofessional reporter said on his YouTube channel.
The more freedom of expression is protected, the more people might be imprisoned for their insults.
Hopefully, US law will help its citizens and those who come to this country to better understand the essential aspects of the US Constitution through the courts. So that cursing, denouncing, and labeling each other as enemies will be resolved, and the prejudice between Republicans and Communists will be eliminated. This further strengthens the belief that all people, regardless of skin color, accent, laughter, or social status, should enjoy the immense benefits brought about by Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression.
Due to the period of tax returns this year, Hoang Duy Hung and his wife came back Houston to file. Indeed, the court day rescheduled for March 16, 2026, is moving earlier on December 17, 2025, by Nguyen Phuong Hang law firms requested. Plaintiffs and defendants are preparing for their court date. YouTubers and Facebookers have many predictions of these activities as celebrating their festival of Free Speech and Free Expression in the social networking. That massive influenced to people and their political model of society in Vietnam.
As actually, who wins or loose on this conscience court is not important to me. They must have responsibility for their actions. The big change after this court is more significant and strong effects to helping Vietnamese people to learn and practice the helpful beneficial of Free Speech and Free Expression brings to them.
Vietnam is a beautiful country, a pear land of Southeast Asia, more than fifty years practically the republic society country. The communist model, that damnable way to prevent Vietnamese people to developing and forming their homeland to civilization as the other countries in the world.
My essay has been written is not opposed to our people and governments, they are willing to dedicate their bodies and bloods to protecting homelands as patriots with anticipations of their government makes change the constitutions and democracy model in the nearby future for Vietnamese people are living in their better life.
This conscience story is finally here, the court date of Mr. Hung and Mrs. Hang will be held on December 17, 2025. That day will occur late with my course dismissed. Thus, I don’t have any information to contribute to us. That is my fault because I did not have any experience of Free Speech and Free Expression in my life. I must learn it later after this court finishing and share it with you soon.
