A fun logo and business card design for my talented friend Sabrina Cook. She needed a logo for her quilting business but wanted to keep it flexible enough to use for other businesses she might have in the future. The name of her company is Shemunkee.

Just as we were finishing the logo design, Sabrina mentioned a unique and beautiful quilt she planned to feature on social media. So we decided to use a photo of the quilt to create a variation of her logo to use as her Instagram profile (). It looked so good we featured the same quilt design on the back of her business card too. I think it turned out great. What do you think?

I am fortunate for the opportunity to work with King County government which includes the city of Seattle, Washington. Their goal was to promote the county’s vision and values to their employees. We developed icons for each of their core values then a campaign around those values.

King County was one of the first areas in the United States to be heavily affected by Covid 19. It was a real shock to me to realize how serious the problem was while it hadn't really hit us that hard earlier on. Things are slowly getting back to normal. I am so thankful for online meetings. It makes working long distances so much easier.

Here are a few of the materials we developed.

Over the years I've designed many annual reports for clients such as NASA, Conoco, Pennzoil and Continental Airlines. It used to be so common for the agencies I worked for to do several annual reports every year. Now when I describe what I do as a graphic designer I hardly ever mention annual reports. This year I was happy for the opportunity to create reports for two divisions of the same company! Here's the finished product.

A few years ago my friend Diana Hickerson called and asked if I could partner with her to help promote Spring Branch District, (in the Houston area). They were looking to attract new business into the area so we created multiple billboards, online advertisements and radio spots for them. The good news is, it’s working, as proven the by measurable results and continuing responses. It's been fun driving down I-10 and seeing the different messaging and designs over the years. If you're in the Houston area and have driven down I-10 near the 610 West Loop you may have seen some of the billboards. In all my years as a graphic designer, I haven't had many opportunities in advertising so this was a nice change. It's been a blast and I look forward to continuing our work with them.

Every once in a while you get the opportunity to work on an incredible project. This was one of those times. A company wanted a unique giveaway for a special event. After tossing around a few ideas we decided to create an original deck of cards with a custom tuck box. Highlighted on the face cards and aces are jobs specific to the industry and company. This job reminds me of how lucky I am to do what I do.

It's cool to walk in to a place of business, (I'm at the vet to pick meds for my cat), and see a logo I designed years ago still being used.
