Please do not click on links in suspicious emails. Please treat any unsolicited phone calls or emails with skepticism.

You may receive phone calls, emails or texts that are scams. When in doubt call the Help Desk.

We will never ask for your username and password details in an e-mail or by phone.

It is also a violation of the College’s IT security policy to surrender your username and password details in this manner.
Cybercriminals will use your account details to take control of your e-mail account or computer system in order to gain information. Do not provide any personal information.

Please stay alert and aware. We will send announcements anytime an attempt is received.

Subject: Banner Year-End Closing
Who it affects: All SJC Students & Employees

Starting: Noon – Wednesday, August 31, 2022
Ending: 1:00 a.m. –Thursday, September 01, 2022

Details:
As part of the business process of the College, the Business Office cannot have any transactions entered into Banner while they run the Fiscal Year-End Closing. Beginning at noon Wednesday August 31, 2022, access to Banner, SOS and CPD’s Destiny One will be unavailable to allow for this Fiscal Year-End Closing Process.
All services will be restored by 1:00 a.m., Thursday, September 01, 2022. Please remember to log out of Banner by 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31st.

The Banner TRAIN Database will be refreshed on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. We anticipate TRAIN being available for everyone by approximately 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Please restart your computer prior to attempting to access TRAIN. Please note that TRAIN may be accessed only through your PC; however, it will not be available via SOS.

To access TRAIN, please vist the internal website. From there, click Helpful Links, click Banner Links and click TRAIN.

Any updates or transactions applied to the TRAIN Database will not be captured in our Banner Production environment.

This outage will affect the Banner, SOS and CPD’s Destiny One Registration systems.

What? Banner Maintenance

When? Saturday June 18, 2022, from 6AM CST to Sunday June 19 6AM CST.

Who? All students, faculty & staff using Banner SOS and any other Banner services.

Why? This work is part of a planned maintenance schedule to keep the College’s Banner system up to date to requirement and standards of Ellucian. The work also includes essential maintenance that ensures we keep our systems running with up to date software patches or hardware fixes.

DETAILS

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, we will conduct a scheduled outage on IT systems and services that will impact all College users. The outage is expected to last from Saturday, June 18, 2022, 6AM CST to Sunday, June 19 6AM CST.

Services impacted: The outage will affect Production Banner and related integrated system. Access to SOS and CPD Registration systems from the College’s website, Banner TRAIN, and other Banner testing environments.

What is not impacted? No other services are impacted by this scheduled outage.

Workarounds during outage: There are no workarounds during this outage. Services impacted by the outage will be restore by Sunday, June 19 6AM CST.

Impact: No impacted is expected from the maintenance.

This is an informational announcement for ALL STUDENTS, EMPLOYEES & CONTRACTORS

The College has postponed multi-factor authentication (MFA) to a later date in June.

Users that set up MFA on their mobile device or online will not need to set up Microsoft Authenticator again in the future.

The new password strength rule will remain in effect for students, employees, and contractors who either reset their password or have new accounts created. Students will be required to change their password every 180 days.

It is highly recommended that you download and use the Outlook app to ensure you are able to send and receive SJC email on your mobile device.
