The History Caffee of the Hellenic Cultural Center of the SW and the Consulate of the Hellenic Republic in Houston, TX, present Dr. Minas Tsikritsis for a lecture on the occasion of the 2024 International Day of the Greek language.

Linear B is a syllabic script that was used for writing in Mycenaean Greek, the earliest attested form of the Greek language. The script predates the Greek alphabet by several centuries, the earliest known examples dating to around 1400 B. It evolved from Linear A which was an earlier Minoan script of the Greek language. The speaker will tell us how these scripts show that the Greek language seems not to be imported but a rather indigenous language. With the help of Dr. Tsikritsis we will travel back in history and listen to how the Minoans and the Mycenean, Cypriot, and Aegean people spoke the pre-Homeric Greek language.

What can your camera see in a super turbid environment? The next video gives some answers. We used very high turbid water something you can find in a turbulent river flow, NTU 37. Humans are practically blind in this water. For instance, at a port like Galveston, the water is 14 NTU and a human can see up to 6-8 inches away. We simulated the turbid water in a tank and we placed three objects. We did not use artificial lights in this trial. The Clarifier cleaned up the video but the enhanced video is going to be grainy in such extreme conditions. The Clarifier is available for sale with Poseidon Robotics ROVs and as an external add-on with Blue Robotics ROVs. I promise a much less dark water video next week. The NTU scale is logarithmic.

We recently received an investment from a lady who was kind to share her motivation with us. We plan to install our tech on 4K dash-cams with a cell phone-like display on the back where the clarified picture, head-light free will be shown. This is a device that can help at night time, or during rain, storms, fog, or even smoke.

The Clarifier ROV by Lolaark Vision cleans up the view of your ROV's live video stream in murky water. We just installed the first copy in a mini HP desktop, the G9 Elite mini with an NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPU. The installation is for one Lanai by Poseidon Robotics LLC. The Clarifier ROV works with up to 1080p video and up to 30 frames per second depending on the GPU strength and PC RAM.

We can customize it for all IP cameras with UDP and other protocol connections. We customize two cameras at this point but more will come: The Mission Robotics camera the Lanais carry and the classical Blue Robotcs camera. The Clarifier ROV shows one display only, the clarified and enhanced video.

The product has been certified by ABS for low-visibility environments. The picture below is from OTC 2023. A Lanai was splashing the water in the display tank. We filmed it outside the tank with the Blue Robotics camera. Here you see the two panels of the conventional Clarifier, original left, and right enhanced.
