Rarity Solutions has an immediate need for a Service Desk Technician to work in the Houston TX, area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience with strong Office 365 / Desktop OS, Active Directory, Apple, Linux, and various other hardware experiences. A minimum of 2 years in a direct support environment is preferred. Relevant skills include many of the Microsoft line of products: Office 365, IP Networking, and WAN Connectivity. The candidate will be joining a growing IT team and must be able to support and troubleshoot a network, must work closely with the Service desk Level I and II teams, and provide remote and local helpdesk support to other offices.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with little direction.

Great clients doing big things!

Gradient was selected by the City of Stafford in partnership with Fort Bend County to extend Cash Road from its terminus at the west end of Freeport Southwest to Kirkwood Boulevard. Project Manager Stephanie Anderson,PE is responsible for the design of this four-lane boulevard roadway, as well as the design storm sewers that will outfall into a detention basin and water and sewer extensions. Gradient is also responsible for Cash Road/Kirkwood intersection improvements to develop turning lane and a new traffic signal, including left and right turn (Westbound Cash Road at Kirkwood and Kirkwood at Wright Road). We’re ushering in 2020 with a brand new vision!
From our early beginnings as a two-person landscape architecture practice, our firm has evolved into a national planning, urban design and landscape architecture firm of over 35 professionals in 4 cities. This year marks our 16th anniversary, and we are thrilled to release our new brand and website in celebration of this exciting landmark.

Over the course of the last year, Asakura Robinson staff, along with the incredible team at LIMB Design, set out to completely re-envision our brand to set the tone for the years to come. Our new brand is designed as a dynamic and playful take on our interdisciplinary practice. New, interactive shapes and patterns are incorporated to highlight our disciplines and practice areas, while a vibrant set of colors has been selected to embrace our diversity.
We are especially excited to unveil our new website, which features updates such as a new home page, project filters that highlight the range of our team’s incredible work, and other unique features that have been carefully tailored to improve your experience. Our staff page now includes all of our newest team members. About the position:
When joining our team as a Tier 1 Support Technician, you will be expected to provide concierge-quality support to our clients for a variety of technical issues across multiple industries. You will be the first level of support on all inbound Help Desk calls. Coordinate with Support Engineers and Network Administrators to resolve high-level service tickets or supports items and issues expeditiously. Provide clients with remote support on a daily basis as well, as onsite support on an as-needed basis. Install hardware and configure computers on an as-needed basis. Document and classify all work of any kind for clients in our ticketing system. Review all items and resolve any issues or alerts that may arise on Workstations and or Servers. Collect basic network hardware and software information from servers, workstations, routers, switches, printers, scanners and WAPs. Create clear and concise network diagrams. Create a preliminary Level 1 network recommendation to be presented to the SE and NA that includes but is not limited to: Workstations and Servers that must be replaced or upgraded to RARITY’s minimum standards. Create client-specific Network Documentation folders using Network Documentation Outlines. Maintain relevance of all client Network Documentation folders. Submit client Network Documentation folders to SE and NA for quarterly review.
Experience: (We will TRAIN the right candidate)
6 months to 1 year of Help Desk Experience
6 months to 1-year experience with Microsoft Office 365

Are miserable and unfortunate but they do happen!

There are a few SIMPLE things that every firm should ask themselves when planning for Disasters:

1. Do you have good and reliable backups?

There are several solutions that can support your business but only a few that can make a disaster less hectic. When evaluating backup solutions, think of ease of management, speed to recovery, and the ability to test at any given time.

2. Hybrid Infrastructure

How many times have we heard the saying, "Do not put all your eggs in one basket!"? The same can hold true for your firms Infrastructure but of course is dependent on your business needs. In today's IT world, firms can have communications in the cloud and critical data and application control on-prem, This is very valuable in the event that you do have a disaster, communications to your clients are still possible.

3. Support team and vetted Partners

Rarity Solutions strives to keep your IT simple!

If IT is simple, then IT is also organized, manageable and clean.

If IT is organized, there is a plan for growth as your business expands!

If IT is manageable, there is a map for the novice IT or end user to find what is needed!

If IT is clean, there sure as heck will not be a years worth of used k-cup coffee pods sitting in the trash can.

These images are a perfect example of what an IT staff should NOT be doing to manage a firm's Infrastructure. This clearly indicates an inability to update critical hardware systems within an organization and ultimately retire hardware that is no longer crucial to keeping a network healthy.
