In the process of designing our Gulf Coast Tarot Deck, we've spun off a few of our favorite cards as original art prints. We could not overlook our noble queens; they set the tone for each suite in the deck with their demeanor, environment, and of course, animal companions.
These baddies are 11"x14" screen prints on lovely recycled paper from 📜
For our process, Sarah ( )draws each design with ink on paper. From there, we scan the original drawings and add digital color in preparation for printing. We use photo emulsion to reproduce the artwork on a screen, and then screen print one color at a time on paper. After the prints are finished and dried, we cut them on our 100+ year old guillotine paper cutter, and then we photograph them to share with you!
Which Queen resonates with you? Here's a brief guide to some of the themes embodied:
🥤 Queen of Cups (Mermaid, elemental water): Caring, nurturing, compassionate, and sensitive. A healer, counselor, or psychic, in tune with intuition and emotional energy. Achievement by imagination and creativity.

🪄 Queen of Wands (Fire Salamander Companion, elemental fire): Dominant feminine energy. Not afraid to demonstrate power or take on a challenge. She is a strong leader, a force of will, and can sustain in the face of adversity. Achievement through boldness and courage, with the confidence of creation and self knowledge.
