City of Hudson update regarding fiber optic expansion

📌Directional Drilling Update
Following the tragic gas explosion in Twinsburg on June 25, the City of Hudson immediately halted all directional drilling operations in city limits pending the results of the incident's investigation.

City staff have since been working with industry professionals and reviewing policies and procedures to strengthen safety requirements for future directional drilling projects.

An update on the proposed policy and procedures will be presented during the City Council Workshop on Tuesday, August 11. If City Council approves the new policy at its August 18 meeting, directional drilling operations could resume in late August.

Until a policy is approved, all directional drilling work in Hudson remains paused.

The safety of our residents, businesses, contractors and employees continues to be the City's highest priority, and we appreciate the community's patience as we work to ensure these enhanced safeguards are in place before any drilling resumes.
