As the 2026 Paper Chase 5K approaches on February 28th, we are making plans for packet pickup! This year’s packet and T-shirt pickup will be held on February 27th at the Fleet Feet store in Jones Valley, from 10am-7pm, as well as at the race site in Constitution Village until 7:40am on the morning of the race.

🌟 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Community Warming Center Opening 🌟

With another stretch of dangerously cold temperatures ahead, a community warming center will be open to ensure our neighbors have a safe, warm place to stay. Please help us spread the word. 🏠❄️

📍 Location: The Livin’ Room
2820 Governors Drive SW, Huntsville, AL 35805

🕓 Hours:
Opens Saturday, January 24 at 4:00 PM
Closes Tuesday, January 27 at 9:00 AM

ShowerUp will be onsite providing warm showers and hygiene supplies, helping restore dignity and comfort during extreme cold conditions. 💧🧼

Before the shelter opens we will be onsite to accept donations.
Dropoff donations 2pm-4pm on Saturday.

Donations needed: paper products, breakfast bars, chips, crackers, canned soup

The warming center can accommodate up to 60 individuals and is open to anyone unable to stay in other local shelters.

Key Details:

Adults only; families with children will be directed to appropriate services.

Pets welcome if leashed or crated.

Meals, temporary beds, showers, and transportation provided.

Huntsville Police and City Transit will offer free rides to and from the center.

The City of Huntsville, The Livin’ Room, ShowerUp, Church of the Nativity, Downtown Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, First Stop, R.O.S.S. Recovery Center, and many other churches, nonprofits, and volunteers who continue to show up with compassion.

The Energy Team visited Free 2 Teach and built Energy Alabama Counting Rays kits. These kits have all the supplies in them for a whole elementary classroom. The tedious preparation work is done and teachers can spend their time TEACHING! 😊

We had a good time volunteering at Free 2 Teach recently. Watching the savings add up for each teacher helped us realize the need that's being filled by this local non-profit.
