One month back to class, and we're still catching our breath. 🏫

August around here, in short: two stairwells at Morris Middle School - Huntsville City Schools got their Eagle and nineteen new reasons to take the stairs. Rob and Sarah hauled boxes of art supplies out to Hazel Green Elementary. And the banner orders came in so fast we ran out of banner material, then hemming tape, then spare hands β€” folks from every department ended up hemming banners.

September's already shaping up: two more classroom scrap deliveries are on the calendar, and since school sports season is just getting rolling, we're extending our 20% off banner sale through the end of the month. Coaches, booster clubs, PTAs β€” that's your cue.

The full recap of our first month back is on the blog: https://buff.ly/H7Ek4xG

We love our schools. Now, go make some noise - we know what day it is. πŸ“£

Stairwell and wall school graphics at Morris Middle, athlete banners by the hundreds, and free classroom materials for teachers β€” back-to-school from inside a Huntsville print shop.

That's A Wrap Wednesday

"Bentley Delivers." So did the shop.

This is a rollback β€” a flatbed carrier that hauls a vehicle on its deck instead of dragging it behind on a hook. (A wrecker tows. A carrier carries.) For a dealership, it's the truck customers actually see up close: in their driveway, in the service lane, stopped in traffic with a vehicle on the back. A rolling billboard with a different address every day of the week.

Here's the part that doesn't show up in the photo. That angled blue graphic crosses a cab door, a body gap, a steel deck rail, and a diamond-plate edge β€” four separate structures that were never built to line up with each other. Getting those stripes to read as one clean, continuous line across all of it is the entire job. And a cab-over front end is mostly compound curve and glass. There's nowhere to hide.

Printed and installed in-house, right here in Huntsville.

Fifty-six years in, and a truck rolling out looking like this still gets the whole shop out of their chairs.

Beep beep, coming through!

Today, Rob and Sarah made their way to Hazel Green Elementary to hand off 3 boxes of art making goodies and armfuls of rolled banner and vinyl material.

This stuff is what’s leftover after big jobs, and there’s nothing we can use them for here. So instead, we hand them off to our teachers. We trust their kids know exactly what to do with them!

We are looking forward to seeing what the kids come up with!

Fresh off the press and headed to MidCity.

These no-parking signs are for The Market at MidCity β€” the ones that keep the lot clear so vendors can set up and shoppers can actually get in. Not glamorous work. But if you've ever circled a market lot three times, you know it matters.

The Market runs Sundays, 8am–6pm.

So tell us: who's your favorite vendor out there? Tag them below and let's show them some love. πŸ…πŸŒ½

That's a Wrap Wednesday!

Usually this is where we show you a finished vehicle. Today it's two finished installers.

Shane and Brian are officially Avery Dennison Certified Wrap Installers.

CWI isn't a weekend seminar. It's hands-on evaluation by an Avery Dennison certified trainer β€” compound curves, recesses, door handles, bumpers, the parts of a vehicle that punish shortcuts. You either meet the standard or you don't.

They both met it.

Allied is now THE ONLY Avery Dennison certified wrap shop between Nashville and Birmingham.

What that means for the trucks and fleets that come through our shop: the vinyl goes down right the first time, it stays down, and it comes off clean years later without taking your paint with it. That's the whole point of certification. Not a badge β€” a repeatable result.

This is the direction we're headed. There's more we want to learn.

Congratulations, fellas. Well earned.

Thanks to Blake Madsen Wrapper for the instruction, and to the crew at White Rabbit Wraps for hosting.

Full story on the blog next month.

BANNERS FOR DAYS.

Our tables have been buried in vinyl banners all month, and honestly, we love it. Every one of these gets printed on the roll, trimmed and hemmed by hand, sometimes we toss some grommets on them, then rolled up and handed off.

20% OFF vinyl banners β€” every day in August.

Call 256-539-2973 and let's get yours on the table. We'll make room.

Ground control to Major Tom… cat.

Somebody has to cut the stickers, and today that somebody is me. Scissors, a box, and a small squadron of astronauts waiting to be trimmed out of their sheets.

Rocket City kids get Rocket City stickers β€” that feels like a rule we didn't write but have to follow. Space cats, an astronaut turtle, an owl in a lab coat who is clearly running the whole mission. Planets, rockets, and a few NICE WORK and SUPER STAR badges mixed in, because some days a kid needs one of those more than a rocket.

All of it goes out tomorrow with a Classroom Scrap delivery, along with everything else we've set aside.

Can't wait to hand it over.

Lobby's full. Come on in anyway.

Here's what a photo like this doesn't show you: the lobby is the smallest room in the building. Behind that counter is the production floor. Across town is the wrap bay. A busy front counter doesn't mean we're out of room β€” it means you caught us on a good day.

Business cards, banners, yard signs, vehicle wraps, and that thing you're not quite sure what to call yet β€” bring it to us.

We can do that.

On the blog - How much does a vehicle wrap cost in Huntsville?

$2,500–$5,000 for a full wrap. There, the number's out of the way. πŸ˜…

Now the part most shops don't lead with: most people who call us about a wrap don't actually need a full one. A well-designed partial runs $1,200–$2,500 and reads like a full wrap from twenty feet away. Cut vinyl lettering β€” name, logo, phone number β€” starts around $150. Then there's window perf, magnetics, and yes, bumper stickers.

The full wrap is the top of the menu. It's not the whole menu.

We wrote all of it down β€” every price range, what actually drives the cost, and what "cheap wrap" usually means (hint: it often comes down to the temperature of the bay it was installed in).

Whatever your price point β€” we can do that. πŸ“ž 256-539-2973

Just Sold in Your Neighborhood.

Estelle Phillips and Daniel Stephens of Coldwell Banker First came to us with a clear picture in their heads of what these mailers should be. Our job was to build it without losing what made it theirs.

That started with the photo. They brought us two options, and we sat down together and worked through which one would actually hold up at postcard size β€” how it would crop, how the key would read, how the two of them would sit against the house. Then came the compositing: pulling that shot into a scene, blending the roofline and the trees, making the whole thing look like a moment instead of a cutout.

From there it's layout. Headline weight, where the eye lands first, how much white space the back needs so the checklist doesn't feel like a form. And underneath all of it, the part nobody sees β€” postal requirements. Address panel clearance, indicia placement, the disclaimer that has to be there and can't fight the design. A postcard that misses those specs isn't a design problem, it's a returned truckload.

Then proofs. Several rounds. Estelle and Daniel looked at every one, and the changes they asked for made it better.

Prepress, press, and out the door.

Two generations, one standard of excellence β€” that's their line, and it's a good one. It's also more or less how we've run this shop since 1970.

Got a vision and a deadline? Design, prepress, and printing all happen right here. Call 256-539-2973.

We can do that.
