A better read for Katanagatari. Sorry it took so long to get on here.

With the beautiful artwork and the beautiful soundtrack this anime was just too beautiful. The thing that made the plot good and bearable was the dialog, it was well scripted and had the deep conversation with little humor that was just great .The animation, not the art, wasn't as good as it could have been but it was one of the best form Nisio Isin. Being as it may only two. Katanagatari aired Jan 26, 2010 and finished on Dec 11, 2010 with episode 12. There were many producers to include Aniplex, Fuji TV, and NIS America. Each episode is fifty minutes which is why it seems to drag on. Katanagatari was written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Take. Male Protagonist Shichika Yasuri voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, whom also played Rienar Braun in the recent popular anime Attack On Titian. Female Protagonist Togame is voiced by the lovely Yukari Tamura also played as Tenten in Naruto as the most popular anime she is in.
8.2 Animation: For the most part the animation is just painting moving on painting which isn’t bad because the art form is beautiful. Everything the character touches or is directly involved with less paint feel it has and the more animated it looks. The pictures are just beautiful. They have a great background views. The other side
8.7 Sound: The sound track really sets the mood for the intro of the anime. The sound was just right for the scenes that were going on. The placing of explosion and gunfire was good not bad at all there is no reason to dislike this because of sound.
6.5 Characters: Characters are basic with little change. Shichika the male protagonist is just there being a bad ass with no emotion, sometimes he make little joke with his emotionless characteristics it’s hard to catch. He starts out as an uneducated gorilla then becomes a simple man by then end. The most interesting thing about the male protagonist is he has a conflict to be a katana or be a human, and then he develops a realization that he is a katana, and he is also human. There’s a conflict for the female protagonist, she want to hate Shichika, but then she learns to love him, she is an almost tsundere, but enjoyable to watch can be hilarious.
6.3 Plot: The story it an adventure to find twelve swords to win over the shoganate. The dialog was great, and the narrator was a good kick in the anime, however the plot is straight forward and it has a terrible and loveable twist. You’ll enjoy the twist but it was seen coming by episode 8.
8.5 Beginning and the ending: The beginning is explained to fast and the first fight scene seems to drag on, also explaining the situation. Though it was not the best starter it was good enough to get started. The ending is a definite must see, I feel when it ended I was left with a burst of emotion. Everything just seemed to come together at the end.
8.0 Unique: When you think about the summary of the anime it seemed not very unique. Then I watched it and realized it was much more. Being in the eyes of the perfect sword. A struggle that was for not. Great way to get a unique bonus. The background of the protagonists where Shichka kills his father to protect his sister and Togame whose father was killed by Shichka’s father. Togame past was that traumatic experience that gain her an abnormal eye and white hair, who does something like that? Job well done.
Giving the overall score a 7.7
