The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of suspicious mail being delivered from unfamiliar senders, including names such as “DAVVE GARZAZ.” These names and addresses are fictitious in nature and hard to track down. In many cases, the envelope may appear empty or contain little more than a QR code on the packaging.

Do NOT scan the QR code.

These QR codes can direct users to fraudulent websites designed to steal personal information, passwords, banking information, or even place malicious software on your device.

As always:
• Be cautious of unexpected mail from unknown senders
• Never provide personal or financial information through suspicious links
• If something feels off, trust your instincts
• Contact law enforcement if you believe you may have been targeted
•Never scan an unknown QR code
