Who We Are:
Multiply combines experienced and efficient white-glove services with cloud-based applications to provide consultation and solutions in all areas of IT asset management. We are a team of innovators who empower people, performance, and profit through solution-driven consulting, automation & services. We seek to challenge the status quo and deliver an incredible experience in everything we do. We believe in the power of relationships and partnerships.
Our Product + Engineering Team:
We’re currently a small but mighty team where everyone’s contribution is felt in a meaningful way. At Multiply, we divide our time between developing and supporting internal applications to improve the efficiency of our Services team, developing our new IT asset management platform, and taking on small projects from our enterprise customers to further our IT asset management experience. We value and champion collaboration, autonomy, and personal growth.
What You’ll Own:
We’re not just looking for someone who will blindly implement stories from a backlog - you will be presented with challenges and trusted with leading projects to come up with the best possible solutions. You'll work with our team members and stakeholders to communicate what is feasible and to understand and envision goals. You will have a big hand in developing products from the ground up and a significant seat at the table in our strategy.
Here are some things you'll be involved in:
– Designing and developing high-quality features across our suite of ITAM (IT asset management) applications, scripts, and tools, a roughly 50/50 split between front and backend work. We’re working with a LEPP stack (Linux, Nginx, PostgreSQL, PHP) that is predominantly PHP with Laravel, hosted on AWS.
– Leading technical discussions and decision-making for the engineering team, especially when it comes to the overall technical direction and architectural design of our new Asset Journey platform
– Validating your solutions and pushing them to production with confidence by contributing to our collection of automated unit and integration tests
– Championing healthy software engineering habits and proposing process improvements that level up our team.
– Mentoring other engineers and sharing your wisdom, along with reviewing the code of other engineers and providing constructive feedback.
We’re Excited About You Because...
– You demonstrate healthy professional engineering habits, such as considering testing, performance, security, logging, documentation, extensibility, and other non-functional requirements.
– You regularly deliver software on-time and are constantly working to make accurate estimates and deliver on those estimates. You shape scopes and stages into well-defined milestones to avoid a monolithic deliverable.
– You’re proactive about designing and proposing test cases and automated testing opportunities.
– You seek to understand the business of Multiply at large - you connect the processes and operations of other teams with the work we’re doing and identify potential areas of improvement.
– You strive to level up other engineers through code reviews, thorough documentation, technical guidance, and mentoring or serving as a Tech Lead on a project.
– You readily provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact other engineers or the company at large. You communicate technical decisions through design docs, tech talks, and our internal knowledge base.
– You’re persistent in the face of roadblocks; you dispatch them efficiently, pulling in others as necessary. You require minimal direction/oversight
– You demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, our infrastructure and our build system. You enjoy researching and proposing new technologies.
– You communicate effectively across functions; you understand the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs and you prioritize solutions that take all of these needs into account.
What We’re Looking For:
– You’re comfortable and experienced building solutions with scrum methodologies in a continuous software development environment.
– You're a tinkerer who is equally excited about fixing pixels on the front end as you are tuning a database index on the back end
– You can articulate the merits and tradeoffs of tough technical decisions, and you have the battle scars to prove it
– You’re excited and confident about your ability to contribute in the areas of DevOps, API design, and database design.
– You enjoy sharing knowledge you've earned and helping those around you to level up
