Great Spark Session today!

Thank you to Chris, Lindsey, and Warren for sharing practical advice with local small business owners.

The big takeaway: there are resources available, but business owners need to know where to look and who to ask.

Be sure to check out the Small Business Development Center, Monroe County Economic Development, and your local business banking expert if you are looking at funding, growth, or new opportunities.

Always happy to be part of these Chamber conversations.

We’re excited to share that NY CloudTech Advisors is the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce Featured Business for August!

Irondequoit is home, and we’re proud to support the local business community through the Chamber, the Membership Committee, and sponsorship of the Spark Sessions.

NY CloudTech Advisors helps businesses make better decisions about internet, phone systems, Microsoft and cloud licensing, utilities, outdated phone lines, and other recurring services. We compare options, explain them in plain language, and help coordinate the transition.

Thank you to the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce and everyone who has supported us along the way!

If you own or manage several buildings, the bills can look reasonable one at a time.

Electricity.
Gas.
Water.
Waste.
Internet.
Phones.

But when you step back, the bigger picture may show:

• Different vendors
• Different contract dates
• Service overlap
• Usage changes nobody has explained

Sometimes the first step is simply putting the bills next to each other and looking at the full picture.

Most businesses review insurance, payroll, and vendor contracts.

Utility bills often just get paid.

But electricity, gas, water, and waste invoices can include:

• Billing errors
• Outdated service levels
• Unexpected usage changes
• Contracts that have not been reviewed
• Costs that no longer match the business

A review can start with one or two recent bills.

The goal is not to promise savings before looking.

It is to understand what you are paying for and whether anything deserves a closer look.

Owning or managing several buildings creates a lot of recurring expenses.

Electricity.

The challenge is that each bill may look reasonable by itself.

The bigger picture can still include:

• Different vendors
• Different contract dates
• Service overlap
• Usage changes nobody has explained

Weekend rush usually exposes the real problems.

A restaurant, bar, or retail shop might run fine all week.

Then Saturday hits:
• More customers
• More devices
• More payments
• More staff activity

That is when weak WiFi, old equipment, and messy network setups start showing up.

A lot of these issues are not obvious when things are quiet.

They show up when the business is actually busy.

A common pattern we’re seeing:

Businesses are paying for phones through their internet provider because it was easy when they first set it up.

But over time, that simple decision can get expensive.

In a few local projects, the phone review also uncovered other issues:
• WiFi gaps
• Older network equipment
• POS and phone systems depending on a weak setup

That’s why we usually look at the full environment before recommending a change.

The goal is not just cheaper phones.

It’s making sure the setup actually supports the way the business operates.
