Traditional conditional access answers a single question: can this user reach this application? For the whole workspace, it is one yes or no.

Policies provide significantly more granular controls.

Every application within a Workpod is evaluated on its own. With Cloudpager Trust Policies, this means you can control how the application operates across devices based on polices you set. For context, an employee can enroll in the same Workpod from a personal laptop and from a Windows 365 Cloud PC and get different configurations.

This reduces the amount of Workpods and assignments IT administrators have to manage. Cloudpager's SAMD Policies extend such controls to offline access, letting application continue to run without an internet connection.

All in all, admins establish one centrally managed workspace that automatically adapts to every endpoint, delivering exactly what each device should have and nothing more.

Supporting BYOD scenarios has always promised flexibility for end users. The hard part lies with IT teams that have to balance that newfound flexibility for employees with security, governance, licensing, and control. For many organizations, that tension meant heavily restricted policies or no BYOD at all.

Application sprawl is compounding your security debt.

Most enterprise IT teams can't tell you exactly how many applications they officially manage. The scarier question to address is "how many unapproved applications are running?"

This isn't malicious. Most employees are just trying to get their work done. However, the utilities copied between machines, tools downloaded to close a ticket fast, installs done by hand because the sanctioned path took too long, and more create a hidden application estate that continues to balloon up; often going unnoticed until it's too late.

Missing prerequisites are one of the quietest causes of failed application deployments. A user opens the app they came for, a dependent plugin or licensing component was never delivered, and the payoff is an error message followed by a support ticket.

We've extended Cloudpager's Application Dependencies feature to Cloudpager Storefronts, which Rory Monaghan shows off here, so the entire prerequisite snafu can automatically resolve itself moving forward. Administrators set an application's dependencies once when publishing in the Cloudpager tenant, and from then on the dependency is always delivered first, followed by the application itself.

For example, package Visual Studio separately from its extensions and project types, set it as a dependency, and every extension will pull Visual Studio along with it. The end user simply clicks, and everything arrives at launch, without them ever installing or even knowing about the prerequisite.

More than 48,000 CVEs were disclosed in 2025 and working exploits can now occur within hours. We all know legacy debt is costly. So, why do organizations continue leveraging XP-era approaches to application packaging, deployment, and updates?

Packaging an application is a one time cost, but operational instability is a recurring one. It's critical organizations don't underestimate the long-term impact of the latter.

Rory Monaghan digs into both sides of that equation in his latest blog. The real cost driver is what happens after deployment. Traditional installers modify the OS in place, updates fail or conflict, and when something breaks across a large user base, the support overhead and lost productivity dwarf whatever was saved during packaging.

Containerization changes that picture entirely. AI Packaging enables you to ingest, package, and deploy standard MSIs (including apps in WinGet) in minutes rather than days or weeks.
