Today everyone and his mother say their product is driven by AI. But much of what is promoted as AI turns out to be the plain old computational algorithm. Not valueless. But not AI. This is akin to a gasoline car with an electric inlet for charging its battery, being advertised as an electric car. Not valueless, but not an electric car. The next time someone says "AI", ask them what are their knowledge representation techniques, how do they extract wisdom from knowledge, is their system self-learning? chartDoc is designed on an AI chassis, driven by an AI engine, and powered by AI knowledge representation techniques such as neural network, semantic network, knowledge graph, rules, frames, and so on. Like all good technology, the complexities of AI are hidden from the users (physicians, nurses, patients, billing clerks, receptionists), but everyone silently benefits from the underlying intelligence-built-by-man. Of course, this is an evolving layer, with the AI chassis firmly in place, and alpha testing in progress on a plethora of AI applications, such as, the automatic determination of ICD codes from the doctor's notes; diagnostic interpretation of lab results and MRI images; clinical diagnostic suggestions on the fly from doctor's notes; robotic assistants for insights; etc.
