Selling the old computer? Deleting isn't erasing. 💾
Every machine that leaves your house carries tax returns, photos, saved
logins and years of email — unless someone deals with the drive first.
1. DRAGGING FILES TO THE TRASH DOESN'T ERASE THEM
It removes the pointer, not the data. The files sit there until something
writes over them.
2. A FACTORY RESET ISN'T ALWAYS ENOUGH
On an older mechanical drive, recovery tools can still pull plenty back.
3. BROWSERS KEEP MORE THAN YOU THINK
Saved passwords, card numbers and active sessions live in the browser
profile, not in your documents folder.
4. BRING IT TO US INSTEAD
We'll move what you want to keep to the new machine, then wipe the drive
properly — or pull it out and hand it to you.
Selling it, donating it, recycling it, giving it to a grandkid — same answer
every time. Deal with the drive first.
