Funny... because you don’t remember buying it. 😂

That’s exactly what they’re counting on.

Fake virus protection and antivirus renewal notices are a favorite scam because that big unexpected charge makes people immediately think, “OH HECK NO!” and call the cancellation number.

And guess who answers? Not Norton. Not McAfee. Not Microsoft. Your friendly neighborhood scammer. 😬

They may ask for your credit card information, bank information, or even convince you to let them remotely access your computer so they can “process your refund.”

If you get one, don’t click the link, don’t call the number in the message, and definitely don’t let anyone remote into your computer. Go directly to the company’s real website or check your actual account.

You know what's funny?

Hackers do not always “hack” their way into your computer.

Sometimes they just ask nicely. 😏

They may pretend to be your boss, your bank, Microsoft support, a delivery company, or even someone offering free coffee. Their goal is to make you panic, get excited, or act before you stop and think.

That is called social engineering: manipulating people into giving away passwords, verification codes, money, or sensitive information.

Before clicking, replying, paying, or sharing anything:

✅ Pause
✅ Verify the request another way
✅ Never share a verification code
✅ Be suspicious of urgency
✅ Remember: “Trust me, bro” is not a security policy
