A peek at my painting process.
This artwork started with a red paint base. It worked well as it shows through in some places and really makes the yellow of the sunflowers pop.
The painting's title is "Created to Shine," and it is available on my website. https://vist.ly/4fp3z It is 24"x24" and is also available as a giclee print.
Being born and raised in Kansas, I have always loved sunflowers, and the concept of being created to shine and bring joy is a spiritual one for me. We were all created to shine, even on the dark days. Wishing you joy and peace today!

I am showing some of the steps in my painting process. There is a lot more that goes into the decision of what to paint, size, colors, techniques, and materials, but after those preliminary decisions are made, this shows a peek at how a painting progresses. I go through a love-hate, love-hate process as I work. I finally understand why I am so exhausted after a painting session. Someone pointed out to me that EVERY BRUSH STROKE is a decision. I am guessing it is "decision fatigue". It is a happy exhaustion, though. 😆🙄🙃
