Starting May 30, 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices (the Less Secure App Setting) which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password.

If you use Microsoft's Outlook email app that is earlier than 2019 (365 is not affected) you are about to lose your email connection. Thunderbird email app users will also be affected. Here are the steps to take.

Here's a perfect example of an email scam to which quite a few of my customers have succumbed.

First, check the source of the email by hitting the drop down arrow to see the full address of the sender. This one is from a Gmail account, rather than mcafee.com.

Second, three years of McAfee costs about $195, not $396.

Third, many didn't even have McAfee installed but called the number and got persuaded to let the "McAfee tech" remote into their machine. Bad juju!

I've never installed McAfee 'cause, IMHO, it protects about as much as a lead life jacket.

Mark these emails as spam and move on.
