Hello peeps! Okay, here’s the deal…if you haven’t been paying attention to the news, RAM and storage prices have SKYROCKETED. I’m not talking about a little price hike…I’m talking about prices for these item have tripled, and even quadrupled. Stuff that used to cost me $75 now cost 3-4 times that. New computers are getting more and more expensive. Yet, Microsoft is telling you that you need to buy a new computer if yours won’t run Windows 11. I’ve had it up to HERE with Microsoft! Windows is barely an “operating system” anymore. All it does is feed you ads and harvest your personal data! Stop and think for a second…you have to pay a SUBSCRIPTION if you want to type a document with Word, or make a spreadsheet with Excel! How stupid is that? They tell you that you need Windows 11 because it’s more secure, then they literally roll out updates that break Windows. Ok, ok…so here’s my point of this entire post: If you have a computer, desktop or laptop, that is 10 years old, and you think you can’t still use it because it won’t run Windows 11, you’re wrong. Get RID of Windows and run Linux! Even if you have an old computer still running Windows 7 that you can’t use anymore, Linux can make it useable again! If you’re unsure what Linux is and what it’s all about, there are thousands of videos on YouTube about it. Search for videos about Linux Mint, or ZorinOS. Don’t worry about HOW to install it…I’ll take care of that. Anyway, that’s my rant for today. Give me a call, I’ll get your old computer up and running with a new lease on life!

Well howdy friends! Ok, if you’re not eligible for the Windows 11 upgrade, and you aren’t eligible for the Windows 10 extension, it’s time to seriously consider switching to Linux. I understand…people are intimidated by the phrase “switch to Linux,” but it doesn’t have to be scary. Bring your Windows 10 computer to me, and I’ll get you switched over to Linux and migrate all your stuff to it. Then you can continue to use your computer without all the Microsoft BS. If you have questions, just ask! I’ll get you taken care of.

Well friends, today’s the day. This is the last day (October 14th) that Windows 10 will receive any updates. That’s security updates, feature updates, driver updates….no more updates. So, you can, 1) Buy a new Windows 11 computer, 2)pay Microsoft $30 for a one year extension for Windows 10 support, or 3) switch to Linux. Give me a call or message if you have any questions or need any help. (Oh, one last option…you can stay on windows 10 and still use your computer normally, but with no security updates, I wouldn’t recommend it.)

Hey friends, we are now in October. Windows 10 support will end on the 14th. If you have a computer that says it's not eligible for Windows 11, DO NOT run out and buy a new computer! Call or message me first. There are more options than buying a new computer, and they're ALL much cheaper!

Hey friends...if all you use your computer for is web browsing, Facebook, and emails, (no Microsoft Office or 365,) then personally, I'd say, ditch Windows altogether and switch to Linux. Yes, there's a slight learning curve, but in my opinion, it's worth it to not having Microsoft constantly spying on you and harvesting your personal information. :)

Remember friends, Jeff's Computer Repair NEVER charges a diagnostic fee, or any "bench fee." It costs you absolutely nothing for me to check out your computer. You only pay if I fix your computer, and it's always $85 plus parts!

Hey friends, Christmas is rapidly approaching….yay right? Just a little reminder from Jeff’s Computer Repair: It’s always cheaper to REPAIR than it is to BUY a new computer. Not only that, but even if your computer is a lil slower, or a lot slower than it used to be, we can take of that too! I recently had a customer with a laptop that needed a new screen. She asked if it would be better to just buy a new laptop. I said, “If you can buy a new one for $155, then absolutely.” (Yes, it was $155 for her to get a screen replaced on a pretty new laptop.) My point is, give me a call before you give up on your laptop or desktop. I’ll save you some money. ;) Also, it doesn’t cost you a dime for me to look at your PC and tell you what it’s going to cost to repair or upgrade!

Well howdy friends! I’ve got an Acer 14” touchscreen laptop for sale. Upgraded to 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. It’s a little older, so it won’t upgrade to Windows 11, but it’s a snappy little laptop that will do all of your daily internet things….email, facebook, YouTube. $125
