I grew up hunting and fishing in Idaho and taught math for 16 years in Southern Oregon before I moved to Hawaii and discovered the art of Gyotaku. I admired the gyotaku art displayed in galleries in Hawaii and decided to give it a try. I spent hours of research on the internet, bought some paper & ink, and I was on my way. My first prints were pretty rough, but I was lucky that the fishing is pret

ty good in Hawaii and with my newly found passion of spearfishing, I was printing a new fish every weekend. I love printing fish for fisherman and seeing the joy in their eyes when they see their prize catch come to life on paper to be shared with generations to come. I have come to the conclusion that it is near impossible to replicate some of the beautiful colors mother nature has bestowed the fish I print, but I try to depict the true colors of the fish as closely as I can and in as much detail as my skills and medium allow. I hope you enjoy my art. I would love to print your fish someday.
