🔧 Fixed Startup Error After Swapping Old NVMe SSD – AHCI vs RAID BIOS Fix

In this video, I show how to fix a startup error that occurs after moving or swapping an old NVMe SSD into a different desktop. If your system fails to boot into Windows after installing the drive, this is often caused by a mismatch between AHCI and RAID storage modes in the BIOS.

⚠️ Root Cause:
The original NVMe SSD was configured in AHCI mode, but the new desktop BIOS was set to RAID mode. This mismatch prevents Windows from loading properly.

✅ Fix:
1. Restart the system and enter BIOS (F2 or F12 on most systems)
2. Go to Advanced / Storage settings
3. Change storage mode from RAID to AHCI
4. Save changes and reboot

💡 Once the storage mode matches the original configuration (AHCI), Windows should boot normally without errors.

⚠️ Important Fix:
On many Dell systems, the BIOS is set to RAID mode by default. After cloning to a new NVMe drive, Windows may not boot unless you switch the storage mode to AHCI/NVMe.

Steps:
1. Restart and press F12 to enter BIOS
2. Go to Advanced Settings
3. Navigate to Storage settings
4. Change RAID mode to AHCI
5. Save and reboot

💡 This is a common issue after cloning drives. Always check BIOS storage mode if your system fails to boot after an SSD upgrade.
