On this Memorial Day, let us take a moment to remember the sacrifice of those who died while serving our nation. We owe a debt of gratitude to these brave individuals and their families, who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We must also remember that Memorial Day is not just a day off work or a time for cookouts and sales. It is a day to honor the fallen, to pay our respects, and to remind ourselves that freedom is not free.

As we enjoy the festivities of this day, let us not forget the true meaning of Memorial Day. Let us take a moment to remember those who have served and died for our country, and to honor their memory by continuing to uphold the values and ideals that they fought for.

Thank you to all who have served, and to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget your bravery and your sacrifice.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of fraudulent text messages claiming recipients owe money for traffic or toll violations. These messages may include a document like the one shown, which appears very official and convincing, along with instructions to make an immediate payment via a link or QR code.

THIS IS A SCAM.

Courts and law enforcement agencies in North Carolina do not send legal notices by text message or request payment in this manner.

If you receive one of these messages, do not click any links or send money. Delete the message and contact your local Clerk of Court using an official phone number if you have questions.

Do not fall for these scams. Never answer these kind of scammers and never give them any private information. Call your bank directly and never respond to an e-mail or text message requesting you log in and verify your password.

In an abundance of caution and for the safety of our customers, we will be closed today.

If you must be out, Please be careful and safe on the roads. Our parking lot is extremely slippery this morning and we don't want anyone (including ourselves) to get hurt.
