Today we should all celebrate the women who, 100 years ago, succeeded in their bold work to end suffrage. Of course this didn't mean all women - women of color were largely left out for decades more - and there still is so much more to do to ensure equal access to voting across the board even now. And because 2020 just can’t quit being a raging 💩 diaper dumpster fire, our ability to vote safely and securely this year is under constant threat.

4 years since this crosswalk made its debut down in Waldo, and a few more since our owner and founder Emily Elmore donated the open-source logo to the City of Kansas City, Missouri. We love seeing all the cool ways that the logo has been used since in city materials, clothing lines, promotional items, and on everything from water company trucks to stickers promoting the arts all over the city.

Happening around Waldo today...refreshed striping at the 75th/Wornall crosswalk (west crosswalk). Instead of the typical striping, City of Kansas City, Mo. Government is applying a new ornamental product that is inset and bonded into the pavement.

Waldo was selected as a test application of this product in part due to the new asphalt laid after the recent water main break at the location.
