You Can't Use Your Claude Subscription for OpenClaw Anymore.

Anthropic pulled the plug over the weekend and our COO John Kirkpatrick woke up to a surprise this morning. No warning, just done.

The biggest thing to know: your agent memory from Claude is gone. You are starting fresh. But ChatGPT has been holding its own, especially for copywriting, structured workflows, and repeatable tasks.

Real talk: I was paying for a market newsletter and barely reading it.

So instead of canceling, I gave my AI agent its own email inbox.

Alright so I made a pretty expensive mistake when I first started using OpenClaw. Burned through $200 in Claude API credits and barely even did anything with it.

Turns out you can skip the API entirely and just connect OpenClaw to your Claude Pro or Max subscription. Same models, no per-token charges. You just need Claude Code to generate a setup token and you're good to go.
