Sorry, I wish I could recommend someone else, but a lot of my customers come from my competitors with horror stories about the huge amounts they charged them ($400) for what I do for $89.00
I've gotten customers from Crandall, a lot from Terrell and quite a few from Gun Barrel City over the years and they have nothing good to say about any of the other computer places.
You've got to remember that I started in 1981. That was before IBM came out with the first desktop computers! I was able to do it all... software, hardware, networking, etc and do it at a fair price. Other computer stores just couldn't compete. That's what allowed me to remain in business for 43 years in a small town.
Thanks to you!
Here's what I would do...
#1: Do business with someone who's been in business for more than 5 years. They should have a storefront that you can visit and a good website. Don't trust your computer to someone working from their house. (Your family pictures and data could wind up being the Saturday night entertainment at their weekend get-togethers.) Ask your friends who they go to and what was their experience. You might want to ask on Facebook?
I know of at least one shady character, working from his house right here in Kaufman, that actually lost a customer's computer. He then gave the customer a different computer and tried to pass it off as the computer they originally brought in for service. (True story!)
#2: Read their online reviews (not reviews from their website) from Google and Yelp.
#3: GET A QUOTE IN WRITING! before leaving your computer in their care. Ask them to call you if there is any change in the quote BEFORE DOING THE WORK!
I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks again,
Dan
