Was wandering the KeizerFEST today, and ran into the always delightful Maria Kessler at her Laserfied booth. She creates a wide variety of cool laser-cut signs, magnets, earrings, etc, and really has something for everyone. Maria has even been known to fabricate custom pieces for customers. If you're around, check her booth out. You can also find her creations at The Fussy Duck and a few other local spots. I walked away with this hilarious magnet.

PROBLEM:
The job development department of Integrated Supports for Living, Inc. - IS Living moved into a new office in which they share a lobby with another non-profit with close ties to their parent organization. A ribbon cutting ceremony was less than 2 weeks away and there was no signage on the outside of the building, and nothing in the lobby indicating which side of the office was for IS Living. Additionally, they were utilizing a space adjacent to the lobby (divided by a glass wall) for their lunch room. Their staff and job program participants would feel more comfortable with more privacy while occupying that space during meal breaks. The lobby featured a unique carpet design with blue and bright green. Those colors in the carpet were in the same ballpark as the IS Living brand colors — but different enough that they would clash. Replacing or removing the carpet was not an option.

SOLUTION:
&Rew Branding developed 3 different solutions for covering the glass wall and presented to the client. They chose this direction featuring a large white logo with identical colors featured in the carpet, along with their company’s vision statement. The design was printed on vinyl and installed by our friends from All Star Custom Graphics. In addition to the glass wall, we designed a simple wayfinding sign for the front desk, taking two leaves from the logo and making them into a directional arrow. The exterior portion of the solution was a vinyl printed logo, on the window next to the front door.

Does anyone have any used Hot Wheel® tracks they'd be willing to donate to Andrew Branding as part of a low budget creative project I am working on? I will check the thrift stores as well, but thought I would post here first. I need curves and straightaways. The more, the better.

&PROBLEM: In their recent days spent at the state fair and even at their KeizerFEST booth, the volunteers of the Keizer Cultural Center found that an overwhelming majority of the people they spoke with had no clue where the center was — or what was housed there. While there is a monument sign near the sidewalk, it has far too much text to be effective, and there were no identifying marks on the actual building itself. Also part of the challenge was factoring in the age of the building and to design something that complemented that time period.

&SOLUTION: Part one of the solution was to identify where (and in what manner) they could add signage onto the building. At Andrew Branding, we surveyed the site, conducted drive-by evaluations of the property, took measurements, and provided them with 3 options: a hanging sign, this solution, and a more ambitious yet still subdued option with lettering on each of the three facades on the front of the building. This final solution utilizes three dimensional black lettering, a slab-serif typeface with roots in the early 20th century, and enough letter-spacing to be read easily from a distance and from passing traffic.
