Got an email from our cloud provider this morning: a legacy storage account type we still use is being retired in a few months. Migrate before the deadline, or workloads break.

Here's the thing โ€” nobody on our team asked for this project. No business unit requested it. It doesn't move any initiative forward. But it's now on our plate with a hard due date, courtesy of someone else's product roadmap.

This is one of the least talked-about realities of running infrastructure in the cloud. You trade away hardware maintenance, but you inherit a new obligation: keeping pace with the platform. Deprecations, API retirements, enforced upgrades โ€” they arrive as polite emails and become outages if you file them away.

A few habits that keep this manageable for us:

- Treat every retirement notice as a work item the moment it lands, with an owner and a date
- Inventory what's actually affected โ€” "we probably don't use that" is famous last words
- Plan the migration months ahead of the deadline, when you can still test calmly
- Review vendor roadmap communications monthly so nothing lands as a surprise

The teams that struggle with cloud aren't usually the ones lacking technical skill. They're the ones treating platform notices as background noise.

Anyone else's backlog partly written by their cloud provider? ๐Ÿ˜„

Most hacked WordPress sites we see weren't targeted by some genius hacker, they got popped by a bot that tried 10,000 things in 5 minutes and found one unlocked door, usually an outdated plugin.

The fix is boring but effective: update everything, turn on 2FA with an authenticator app, and put a free Cloudflare WAF in front of your site.

When's the last time you checked which plugins are actually still needed on your site? ๐Ÿ”’

Why WordPress Sites Keep Getting Hacked in 2026 WordPress still powers somewhere around 40% of the websites on the internet, which makes it the biggest target for automated attacks on the planet. Most of the WordPress sites I get called in to fix weren't hit by some g...

Quick gut check: are your employees reusing the same 2-3 passwords everywhere, or is there a Google Sheet called โ€œLoginsโ€ floating around your office?

Credential theft is still the #1 way small businesses get breached in 2026, and a password manager is one of the highest-ROI security fixes you can make.

We broke down what actually matters when picking one for a 5-50 person team, hint: it's not just โ€œhas an app.โ€ ๐Ÿ”‘

Why Password Managers Aren't Optional Anymore for Small Businesses If your employees are still reusing the same three passwords across a dozen accounts, you're not alone, but you're exposed. In 2026, credential theft remains the single most common way attackers break ...

Quick question: if your server crashed tonight, do you know exactly how long it'd take to get back up, and how much work you'd lose?

Most business owners can't answer that, and โ€œwe have a backup somewhereโ€ isn't the same as a real recovery plan.

We broke down the 3-2-1-1-0 backup rule and why testing your restores matters more than having them. ๐Ÿ’พ

Why "It Won't Happen to Us" Is the Most Expensive Sentence in Business Every small business owner has said some version of it: "We're too small to be a target," "We have a backup somewhere," or "We'll deal with it if it happens." In 2026, those sentences cost companie...

If anyone on your team uses AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Amazon Q, this one's worth a read.

Researchers found a way to hide malicious instructions inside public GitHub repos, the AI reads them, then โ€œhelpfullyโ€ suggests installing a poisoned tool that steals cloud credentials.

The scary part? It looks completely normal from the developer's side. Anyone using AI coding assistants at your business?

What Actually Happened A security flaw in Amazon's AI coding assistant, Amazon Q, was recently disclosed that had a particularly nasty twist. Researchers found a vulnerability that allowed attackers to inject malicious instructions into the assistant'...

Did you know your Microsoft 365 Business Premium plan might already include enterprise-grade security software you're not using?

EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) watches for suspicious behavior, like a Word doc suddenly running commands, and can shut it down in seconds. It used to be enterprise-only.

In 2026, a 20-person company can get it for under $1,500/year.

Worth checking if yours is turned on. ๐Ÿ’ป

What EDR Actually Does (Without the Jargon) Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is software that lives on your laptops, desktops, and servers, watching what's happening in real time and stepping in when something looks off. Think of it as a security camera and a sec...

This week's security roundup has a common thread: none of it is exotic.

Three new Linux kernel flaws (patch your servers this week, not next), AI malware that rewrites itself to dodge antivirus, and a ransomware group back in action targeting VPNs without MFA.

๐Ÿ”’ Quick check: when's the last time you patched your Linux servers or turned on MFA everywhere?

Full rundown + what to fix first:

Linux Kernel Vulnerabilities Are Still a Big Deal Three new flaws landed in the Linux kernel this week, and they affect a wide range of distributions. The most serious, CVE-2026-1042, is a use-after-free bug in the netfilter subsystem that allows a lo...

A Florida HVAC contractor lost a week of dispatch records to ransomware and paid $85,000 to get them back.

A Tampa accounting firm watched a leaking water heater destroy their file server on a Sunday night.

These aren't hypotheticals, they're this year. If your backup plan hasn't been tested, it might not hold up when you actually need it.

Real talk, if your small business is still doing every task by hand, you're working harder than you need to.

We've been building AI agents for a while now, for ourselves and for clients.

Our internal agent handles tickets, alerts, content drafts. Our client agent handles intake and follow-ups.

Both run 24/7. Both don't call in sick.

The best part? You don't have to be a tech wizard. We tailor the agent to YOUR workflow, on-prem or in the cloud, and hand you the keys.

Curious what an agent could automate for you? Drop a comment or DM us. Happy to chat.
