At Ctrl Alt Repair we specialize in all technology, not just computers. This includes, but is not limited to, commercial structured wiring, networking, POS systems, surveillance, residential wiring and home automation, lights, locks, blinds, access control, audio/video, tv mounting and of course computer setup and repair.. Positions will be part time, leading to full time! General computer knowledge, basic construction skills, and familiarity with technology is preferred, but being teachable is the most important quality!

Multiple positions available. Starting pay varies based on position and skill set, starting at $13/hr for zero experience with more for Jr and Lead Technicians and TONS of room to grow in the business and wage will be higher based on experience and knowledge.

I have a job for a big box home improvement store where we are pulling cat six wire for the customer service return center. It will be about 10 hours tonight and same Monday (tomorrow night). Travel provided to site. (Corbin,KY) travel pay, hotel accommodations for the night and one meal each day is also provided. Pay based on experience!

Ok I have answered/explained/talked about this a thousand times, so I wanted to give a little detail about the whole Wifi speed/range mystery. This is how it all kinda works..

Given a 3x3 client (3 antennas and radios), the maximum theoretical air rate is 1300 mbps. This is ONLY possible if both the AP and the client are both 3x3. Even if this is the case, because only 1 cable can provide bandwith (most APs don't support LACP on the two ports of the APs), you are physically limited to a maximum of 1000 mbps in either direction. Now, given that most sessions are asymmetrical (use more down bandwidth than up bandwidth), you can expect to get a bit more than 50% of the available air rate as your actual throughput (I would estimate somewhere between 650 and 850 mbps in best case scenarios).

However, you also have to consider that most traffic doesn't actually use the full available MTU. When using small packets, your TCP overhead is a much greater percentage of the overall transmission, further reducing your effective throughput.

Finally, consider the RF pollution in the area. Most of us can easily see our neighbors' wireless networks, which may or may not be on the same RF channels as ours. This creates interference, further reducing effective throughput. Also don't forget that you're probably not the only client on that AP, so you're sharing bandwidth.

Bottom line is this! In a shielded room, with every possible optimization in place, I could maybe see a 3x3 client get CLOSE to 1gbps down. But in real world terms, DON"T EVER expect better than 650 mbps when you factor in the interference, overhead, other clients, and other factors.
