Tennessee tourism just got its flowers. 🏆

Congratulations to Mark Ezell, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development on being named the 2026 State Tourism Director of the Year by the U.S. Travel Association!

Since 2019, Mark has helped lead a period of historic growth for Tennessee Vacation tourism — driving visitor spending, creating economic opportunity, and bringing big ideas to life that inspire people to explore this state. Always with a good sense of humor about it, as evidenced by this photo from our recent shoot with him!

Congratulations, Mark! 👏

Dolly Parton didn’t just sing about East Tennessee. She lived it, loved it, and gave everything she had back to it.

From building Dollywood Parks & Resorts into a place where families still make memories, to funding the COVID vaccine research that helped save lives, to putting a free book in a child’s hands every month through the Imagination Library. Her generosity knew no bounds.

Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for putting these mountains–and this community–on the map. 💛

DS IN THE PRESS 🗞️

Local roots. Historic impact.

We’re honored to see recent coverage highlighting our team’s support of the East Tennessee Women’s Suffrage Museum and the annual Febb Burn Banquet. Celebrating the pivotal role Tennessee played as the "Perfect 36" to ratify the 19th Amendment is a powerful reminder of what local dedication can achieve.

Huge thanks to the press for capturing the spirit of the evening and bringing national attention to the stories that shaped our democracy.

When content becomes endless, credibility becomes scarce. 💡

In a world where anyone can generate high-quality content in seconds, what actually creates a competitive advantage? The answer is trust.

AI can generate endless content, but it can’t build credibility—and that’s why public relations is becoming more valuable than ever. In our latest blog, Erin breaks down why AI isn’t replacing PR, but rather setting a higher bar for what it means to be believed.

One more person doing the right thing can change the course of history. 🇺🇸

In August 1920, Febb Burn wrote a letter to her son, Harry, urging him to vote yes on the 19th Amendment. He did, and Tennessee became the "Perfect 36," the deciding vote that gave women the right to vote nationwide.

With the Febb Burn Banquet coming up this Tuesday, Wanda Sobieski's (President and Founder of the Suffrage Coalition) new op-ed in the Knoxville News Sentinel revisits that story and what it still teaches us about the power of one voice, even when the volume around us feels impossible to cut through.

Thanks to Erin Burns Freeman for securing the placement for the Women's Suffrage Museum. Read the full column — https://bit.ly/4bPVSgS.

Beating the dog days of summer the best way we know how: handcrafted drinks and fresh carbs.

Huge thank you to Jenna for baking homemade cinnamon rolls and bagels from scratch, and Abby for crafting custom matchas and coffees to fuel the team all day long! 🥯✨☕️

We came for a discovery session. We left with a new favorite bell, a library full of laughter, and a strong opinion on the coolest sword. 🗡️

Our team spent a morning at Johnson University talking through what the future looks like for them and where we could help — Erin, our VP of Comms, has been in JU’s corner on PR for years, but this one was about where they want to go next.

In between the conversations, we wandered the 133-year-old campus, met “Big George,” and got happily derailed in the library by a collection of Lord of the Rings replicas that nobody warned us about.

This is the part of the job we don’t post enough. It's not the deck, not the deliverable, just the walking-around-getting-to-know-a-place part. It’s usually where the best ideas start.

Our VP of Communications, Erin Burns Freeman, has had the pleasure of working with Mary Kellogg-Joslyn for years, and even she was blown away by the stories Mary shared in this sit-down interview with WBIR Robin Wilhoit.

Former Disney EVP of Television turned Titanic Museum Attraction co-founder, Mary Kellogg-Joslyn spent two decades developing hit shows at Disney, then built a second act as one of tourism’s most successful experience-marketers in Branson and Pigeon Forge.

In the interview, she shares stories and life lessons and previews her next chapter: co-creating the new Women's Suffrage Museum right here in Knoxville.
