What is Windows 7 End of Life?

After January 2020, you will no longer receive Windows 7 security updates. Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or Windows 7 support. Therefore, it’s important that you upgrade to a newer Windows operating system to avoid being at risk to security breaches.

Ceasing support for W7 means “technical assistance and software updates from Windows Updates that help protect your PC will no longer be available.”

If you have a new computer, this guide is pretty good about running you through the basics. Our only critique is that it neglects to tell you that you can set up your computer with an offline account. If you attach a Microsoft account to the PC it may cause some issues should you ever forget your password, but it is your choice in the end. If the account is set up offline, just know that we here at Computer Care can help should you ever get locked out.

Designed to encrypt and ransom data and spy on everything a user does, malware has become very prevalent in the last few years. The 2017 WannaCry attack put the
