🚨 Spoofing Awareness Notice 🚨
We have recently observed an increase in phishing emails that appear to originate from the recipient's own email address.
Although this can seem alarming, it does not necessarily imply that the email account has been compromised. This is a recognized spoofing technique where attackers falsify sender information to make the message appear more credible.
What to know:
• These emails are typically not sent from your actual mailbox
• No sign-in or password compromise has usually occurred
• The objective is to deceive someone into clicking a link, scanning a QR code, or opening an attachment.
What to do/not to do:
• Do not click links, scan QR codes, or open attachments
• Do not reply to the message
• Report it as phishing (in Outlook, right click and report) or delete it.
We are actively monitoring and enhancing email protection to reduce the likelihood that these messages reach inboxes. As always, awareness is one of the most effective defenses. If you are uncertain about a message, contact us before taking any action.
Stay safe and stay informed.
