Guildmembers! We promised an update on Magic the Gathering The Hobbit Play Boosters as soon as we had information. Yesterday, we received some conflicting information and were able to get some clarity within the past hour (we now have murky water clarity instead of of the mud from yesterday), so we're giving you an update today with what we have.
Play Booster Boxes (and thus single play booster packs) are not here yet and will not be here this week. Wizards of the Coast sent out an e-mail to WPN stores that it will be until September before we see them, however they also told distribution that it would be next week. Thus, we have no reasonable clue as to when they will arrive except sometime between next week and mid-September. We wish we had better news for everyone, but this is what we have been told as I write this post.
For those of you with pre-orders, we are going to let y'all make the call. Our policy is that we will give refunds on down payments for preorders if we cannot get you the product in a reasonable time. Within 2 weeks of release is reasonable (which is what next week would be), September is not. We will hold and keep track of your order until we receive your play boosters if that is what you wish, but if you want a refund on the play boosters, we will do so. This is going to have to be case by case basis, so come in and let us know what you want to do.
We apologize for this mess, we wish we had better news. Unfortunately, this is completely beyond our control. We will continue to provide updates as we get them, and will be here for all your gaming needs.
Our Prerelease event for tonight is still scheduled (prize support is ready and waiting) and we're ready to see some this great set played in store. Come in and join the fun of MtG The Hobbit.
