Volunteering happens year round for Team Cypress. Since 2005, Cypress has dedicated thousands of hours each year to mentoring high school robotics students, helping them develop programming, engineering, mechanical, electrical, and business skills.
Cypress CEO Jon Uren was a robotics team member who started mentoring students when he graduated. After years of volunteering, Jon knows firsthand how quickly staff can burn through vacation days when traveling for student competitions. Jon changed the rules to provide paid time off for employees working with their teams at robotics events.
