Here's something we didn't know until this week: snails don't just make one kind of slime. Researchers found they actually produce five different types, each one built for a different job. One helps them glide, one seals them in for the winter, two are for defense, and so on. Scientists think it could even inspire new kinds of adhesive materials down the road. We got a kick out of that, honestly. Picking the right adhesive, coating, or finish for the right job is a bigger part of what we do than people realize. Turns out snails figured that out first.
