😅aaaaaaand this is why we don't machine wash silk!

Silk is a dichotomy - it is both strong and delicate. This means it can last and last but it does need special treatment. Washing my silk in a modern machine has not damaged the fabric's integrity but it has permanently altered its aesthetic.
Not all dyed silks run and bleed this drastically! But with a color as vibrant as this was, it was a safe bet that it would.

If you must wash silk yourself, it is always recommended to silk. Most silk items will be labeled because so few people know how to properly handle silk these days.
This experiment is the perfect example of *why.*
