Universal Health Services (UHS), a Fortune 500 hospital and healthcare services provider, has reportedly shut down systems at healthcare facilities around the US after a cyber-attack that hit its network during early Sunday morning.

What IS metadata? You could describe metadata as data about data but what does that REALLY mean?

Here’s an example: a music file. The metadata of that file would include things like the artists name, the album and the year it was released.

Metadata give us more insight, a deeper understanding of the data.
