Has anyone adjusted their repricing strategy for the local Buy Box yet?

Amazon now shows different Buy Box winners based on where the customer is. Most sellers haven't adapted their pricing for this yet.

Seller Snap CEO Adrian Rich sat down with Fast Track FBA to break it down. Worth a listen if this is new to you.

Amazon sellers: we ran the numbers on back to school across ~6,600 ASINs in Office & School Supplies, and one result stood out.

πŸ“ˆ Book covers: +633% units per day vs the spring baseline. About eight times the next category. It did +883% in 2025, so it's a genuine annual pattern, not a blip.

Everything else in the school aisle rose too: βœ… Calendars & planners +78% βœ… Envelopes & mailers +44% βœ… Education & crafts +40% βœ… Paper +26%

And exactly one line dropped: forms & recordkeeping. The one thing in the category nobody's buying for a classroom. πŸ˜„

Here's the bit that should bother sellers: in that same window, the median seller in the category changed their price by 0.0%. More cut than raised. The demand showed up and almost nobody responded to it.

Labor Day Sale starts 28 August. Same test, eight days out.

πŸ“£ Heads up, Amazon sellers β€” Amazon announced the Labor Day Sale (Aug 28 – Sep 7), and the deadline to submit deals is this Friday, August 14.

Amazon is framing it as your last big chance to clear slow-moving inventory before Q4, and that checks out:

βœ… Free up FBA capacity for holiday replenishment βœ… Avoid long-term storage fees on aged stock βœ… Get event traffic on ASINs that don't move organically (180+ days β†’ Amazon Outlet)

Eligible deal types: Best Deals, Lightning Deals, Prime Exclusive Discounts, and coupons.

And if you're on the fence about discounting β€” our Prime Day data showed the small minority of genuinely discounted products captured 70% of all unit growth, while full-price listings barely moved. The traffic shows up either way; the price decides who gets the sale. πŸ’°

Amazon Business just hit $60 billion. Hospitals, universities, and enterprises are buying at scale through Amazon β€” and most of that flows to third-party sellers.

The problem: most sellers are still using a repricer built for B2C logic. B2B pricing is different and if your repricer doesn't know that, you're leaving money on the table.

Seller Snap has a dedicated B2B repricing mode available to all customers. Worth checking if you're running any B2B catalogue.

Amazon Business reached $60 billion in annualized gross sales, up from the $35 billion Amazon disclosed in 2023 and $25 billion in 2021. On Marketplace Pulse estimates it represents roughly 7% of Amazon's $830 billion GMV.

Does everything really go on sale during Prime Day? We checked and the answer is no.
We tracked the same 100,000+ products before and during Prime Day 2026. Only 18% had a genuine price cut. Most barely moved, and some got more expensive.
But that small group of truly discounted products captured 70% of all the sales growth. The deeper the cut, the bigger the jump β€” a 30% discount drove a 771% sales lift, while flat-priced products grew just 15%.
Prime Day isn't really a test of what shoppers want. It's a test of how sellers price. Full analysis πŸ‘‡

Big one for resellers and wholesalers: Amazon is dropping the seller-performance eligibility check for the Buy Box, rolling out through the end of 2026. Translation: more sellers competing for the same box.

The instinct will be to fight harder for it. But a more crowded field just means more price pressure, and the Buy Box was never the actual goal β€” profit is. It's a lever to get there, not a trophy worth winning at zero margin.

If your repricing was set up for a smaller field, worth re-checking your floors now. How's everyone else thinking about this?

We tracked Amazon Prime Day orders in real time. Hourly. Every day.

And every day, without fail, there's a dip. Same window. 4pm–9pm ET. Wednesday. Thursday. Friday. Saturday. Like clockwork.

So we have to ask β€” what is actually happening out there?
Is it life? Is it logistics? Is it something we'll never fully understand?
We have some theories:

🍝 Dinner with kids
πŸš— The great evening commute
πŸ‹οΈ The post-work gym rush
πŸ• Walking the dog (non-negotiable)
πŸ“Ί The Seinfeld rerun that still somehow pulls numbers
🧸 Bedtime negotiations
🌍 Life briefly winning

Amazon sellers β€” drop your theory in the comments. Bonus points for creativity πŸ‘‡

Here's what Prime Day is doing to seller margins.
Day 1 saw a -0.41pp drop versus the pre-Prime Day baseline β€” the largest single-day move in the last 30 days. Day 2 came back to -0.27pp, a partial recovery but still below baseline.
We're tracking it through to the end of the event.
