Dear Lake-Sumter Computer Society members,
Our next scheduled LSCS meeting is set for this Thursday, Dec 5, 2019 at our normal meeting place at LSSC:
Time: 2:15 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Lecture Hall 1, Leesburg campus of Lake-Sumter State College
Reminder: Bring your checks for Early Bird Renewals. See details in earlier note. This is the last meeting for the Early Bird special rate. Dues are reduced by 25%, so a single membership is $18 and a family membership is $27.

2:15 PM: Opening remarks by president Roger Ehrig
2:30 PM: A special visit from our friends at the Villages Best Buy store in Lady Lake, FL. Members of the tech support team will cover what is new in technology products and available for the Christmas holidays. We have been fortunate in several previous years to have them visit us at this time of year, and it has always been an exceptional meeting. There will be plenty of time for Q&A, so come prepared with your questions on topics such as new PC’s, tablets, smart home automation, video streaming and more.

The lecture hall has plenty of room, so bring a friend. Be sure to check our web site for any scheduling changes at http://lscs.us/programs.php

Please plan to attend our annual Social Meeting!

There will be food, Door Prizes and a chance to meet and mingle with your fellow LSCS members!

Who is invited:
- Current LSCS members, plus one guest
- Previous LSCS members who have not renewed their membership for 2019 may do so at the check-in table.
- If renewing or joining, please bring a check for $24 (single) or $36 (double or spouse membership)

Current Members: Please wear your 2019 LSCS nametags:
- Assists staff during the check-in process
- Lets other members know who you are
- Print off your current 2019 nametag by logging on to LSCS.US, go to members section, and look for "Print your Nametag"

Refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres will be provided. Therefore, to assist us in planning the correct amount of food, please RSVP by Wednesday, Feb. 13, by replying to this email with
- your name
- whether or not you plan to attend, and
- if you plan to bring a guest

Door Prizes:
- Will be awarded to Members Only by a drawing from numbered tickets. So be sure to get your ticket when you check in.
- Optional but more Fun: LSCS has purchased a few interesting prizes, but we have found that if members bring an item or two to donate, it makes the raffle more interesting.
- Used gear is certainly acceptable, if it works.

LSCS Photographer Loel Stofan will have his photo booth set up to get current photos of new members, or optional updates for current members for our web site. Personally, I plan to stick with the younger version.

This should be a lot of fun and give everyone a chance to get to know our fellow members in an informal setting. We certainly hope you can make it, and please be sure to RSVP by this coming Wednesday, Feb 13!

Dear Lake-Sumter Computer Society members,


Our normal bi-monthly schedule (first and third Thursdays) will continue on this coming Thursday, September 6. We will meet in room LH-1 (the lecture hall) on the Leesburg campus of LSSC.


2:15 – 2:30 PM: Introduction and opening remarks

2:30 – 4:00 PM: Andrew Richner, Asst. Store Manager of the Office Depot in Leesburg, FL is scheduled to be our guest speaker, and he plans to share his views on current trends in personal technology products, including PC’s, tablets and home automation. Andrew plans to discuss what today’s retail customers are buying, as well as what good things and what problems his customers are reporting as they try out new things. Time for Q&A.
