Cybersecurity compliance starts with clarity. 🔐

Inconsistent marking of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) continues to create confusion, higher costs and unnecessary compliance burdens—especially for small defense contractors navigating CMMC requirements.

Clearer guidance and accurate CUI identification are essential to strengthening security without overextending resources.

Most organizations agree a key problem for the CMMC program is the Defense Department's inability to properly identify and mark CUI.

🛡️ CYBERSECURITY TIP

Don’t ignore software updates. That “Remind Me Later” button could leave your device exposed longer than you think.

💻 Modernizing decades of legacy technology.
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) just reached a major IT milestone — moving its catalog system off a 35-year-old COBOL platform and onto a modern commercial system.

The modernization will help DLA: ⚡ Process data and requests faster ⚙️ Automate previously manual processes 🤝 Better support DoD, NATO allies and partners 📉 Reduce long-term technical debt
The effort is part of DLA’s broader 10-year IT modernization strategy. (Federal News Network)
Modernization isn’t just about replacing old technology. It’s about creating faster, more flexible systems capable of supporting today’s mission — and tomorrow’s demands.

🤖 AI is moving deeper into military and intelligence operations.

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is looking toward a future where AI agents don’t just assist people — they communicate and collaborate with other AI agents across military operations.
DIA Chief AI Officer Maj. Gen. Robert Kinney described a vision where specialized agents could support intelligence collection, operations, logistics, communications, cyber and planning. DIA is already working on the foundation, including a 90-day sprint to develop an enterprise AI platform and work around Model Context Protocol (MCP).

But increased autonomy also brings increased responsibility. DIA officials are emphasizing security, zero-trust principles, responsible AI and human oversight, particularly when AI could influence decisions with irreversible consequences.
The future of defense AI may not be human-to-AI — it could increasingly become agent-to-agent.
