While fully autonomous vehicles continue to make headlines, today’s roads are increasingly populated by vehicles equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering, traffic jam assist, and limited hands-free driving. These technologies are changing how people drive, but they are not eliminating the need for traffic enforcement.

For law enforcement agencies, the larger question isn’t whether speed enforcement will disappear. It’s how enforcement will evolve as vehicles become increasingly automated.
