The total cost of the Growing Renewed Opportunities for Workers in Appalachia (G.R.O.W Appalachia) program is $5M, and includes Farm (Ruby Grow and Grow Appalachia), Tech Express, and Workforce Trainee programming. $1.5M (30%) is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration Grant, and the remaining $3.5M (70%) of the program is funded by allowable federal and non-federal funding.

Today is three of our technicians' last day here at Tech Express. It is a bittersweet feeling for sure. While we are sad to see them go, we are so proud of how far each of them has come!

Jace and Zayne both have successfully completed their 200-hour college internships. Jace is attending New River Community and Technical College for Computer Science and plans to transfer to Concord University to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. Zayne is a New River alum currently attending Concord University where he is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity. Jean-Marc is a high school technician who has been with us since he was 14. Jean-Marc will be graduating in May with plans to travel before he enters the workforce full-time!

We deeply appreciate all the hard work and commitment these three technicians have put into Tech Express and wish them luck in their next steps! ♥

Big thanks to H&R Block for their generous donation!

Our team recently picked up a large batch of devices that we’ll be refurbishing and giving a second life. Instead of going to waste, these machines will be cleaned up, repaired, and made ready for someone new to use.

We’ll be offering these refurbished devices at affordable prices to help our community stay connected without breaking the bank.

Thanks again to H&R Block for supporting what we do and helping us put more tech back into the hands of people who need it!
